Tulefell: Where do you put the comma? How much do you allow yourself and what do you curb? Why?
Could be anything: food, drink, relationships, time and money spent on… whatever.
It's restricted not allowed :)
For years differing Christian denominations have argued about whether we immediately go to Heaven after taking our last breath, or whether we “sleep in the grave” for eons until such time. And, it’s all about where to put the comma!...On the cross, Christ is asked by one of the thieves if He will please remember him. Jesus responds, “ verily I say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in Paradise”. Naysayers claim the punctuation is “off”, and it should read, “verily I say unto thee today, thou shalt be with me in Paradise”. Thus, changing the meaning. Attorneys go over legal documents with a fine toothed comb looking for such pesky punctuation...btw.

Well... surprised to see that someone took this thread as being about grammars. Sorry for iterations, but the opening post says: "How much do you allow yourself and what do you curb? Why?"
Shoulda I offered an example? Like: I buy whatever piece of clothes I fancy without looking at the price if I really fancy it, but I don't allow my self ice-cream. In that case, I'm afraid, the thread will gear into (men bashing their exes for) buying clothes.
Have I really failed to explain the subject of this thread? Is it so hard to understand?

Rohaan is a bit slow, just pat him on the head and say "yes dear"

Because of the way I think I go without men..I don't purchase an item for the sake of going without an item..Nor do I purchase an item for the sake of liking an item..

I think , we have limited resources ... So we should utilise those to the most useful way... At least I personally don't like to waste my resources upon something not worthy (not sure if I make any sense !! ) ...
The supply and demand theme seems to be at play with the effects of the Covid or so called Plandemic. I am seeing a basic supply need that will last till sometime next year. In my country this is not a good time to buy lumber even though my country has lots of crown land trees. Lumber tarriffs is not making the news lately and I care not to research this cause I'm kinda good at research. And like the ending of the third movie The Planet of the apes" you may not like what you find"

You do make sense! Our resources are indeed limited and we have to choose. It's about preferences.
Before I started paddling kayak, every visit to mechanical guys with my car felt like I've been robbed in the middle of the day. Now it doesn't feel so: my car is my only pumpkin to paddling waters and the costs to keep it going don't hurt me anymore - no restrictions here. I don't spend time, though, on washing it: the cost is low, but free time is precious and it's not allowed to waste it on appearance :)
Butterflygirl1: I restrict myself with what I purchase if I see something I like or I want it I store it and leave for few weeks if I still want it I buy it I do
but most times I don’t want it Or need it it’s stoping me making unnecessary purchases
I try to buy only things that I need. But it's boring. So sometimes I buy things that I like, but I buy them as a gift to others. That's fun :)

The words 'restricted' and 'not allowed' are big words to be inflicting on self... I make choices that sit well with me on different levels. They don't feel like restrictions or lack of allowing myself freedoms because my choices match my values at the time I make them ...
