Not sure i follow you but I’ve purposely changed my self through my life with different interest from exercise, dieting, politics, religion, marriages, economy, education et al

No I just consciously wanted and tried different things in life. A circumstantial change, to me, might be something like going to prison and making changes there to get the hell out as soon as I can or fathering a child out of marriage and mutually deciding to have a responsible role raising the child if marriage is out of the question, or whatever else interrupted my plans ... like moving because my home was on the side of the volcano mt st helens when it blew out in 1980.
