Take a depressed person who keeps thinking they are a burden to everyone else and that the world would better off without them.
These thoughts arnt the person..these are intrusive thoughts of someone who hasn't fully got control on their own thought processes...whether medicated or not.

Thier thoughts are not lying to them, they're just having incorrect thoughts. There"s a subtle but significant difference.
