mikey4691: ^^ Words from someone who believes in tearing down history, and suckling off huge government... Bet you sent money to the George(home invader)Floyd foundation..
I don't believe in tearing down history (I presume you mean statues), suckling off the government and I don't have a high opinion of George Floyd. You see mikey these are the mistakes you make when you presume rather than ask someone's views, when you put them in a category and make assumptions about them.

Youcannow: You’re at an age where school playground insults should be a thing of the past.
Not only are you a sad little man , who’s contributions to the forums intrinsically boring , you can’t even put a sentence any human could understand, let alone comprehend ..
Nail on the proverbial..wink

I don’t think troops do a 20 year stint .
I think it’s 3 or 4 years max .

Good man, we all have different perspectives humour and tastes in women/men, no point of trying to change to suit anyone else's narrative, I try not to get upset on the internet by people that don't like my point of view.. It's the way of the dragon..cheers

There is another kind of failure apart from the military aspect that we should be thinking about.
That is failed livelihoods, failed aspirations, the effort people have put in over the past twenty years to build better lives. Women who have studied hoping for qualifications to give them hope for the future. The whole social infrastructure, doctors, even beauty salons, etc, (yes they exist and were thriving in Kabul.)
What happens now?
It's a massive, inconceivable failure in huamitarian terms and an entire population is in fear of what the future may bring.

My part of the world is still in chaos as we speak Mikey, not as bad as it was, I have lived through occupation and been imprisoned for my beliefs, watched friends being murdered on the streets just because they were thought to be a Catholic or a rebel, most of those had no interest in politics.. Wars are ugly. I hope the best for the people of America and the world always.

I think we live in fear here in the west also .
I think they have more freedom in the fact that their crime rate is relatively low .
Can we walk the streets here without fear .
Rapes, murders , crime . Is that the price we pay for freedom?

Speak for yourself, I dont live in fear and can certainly walk the streets without fear day or night.
There are reports coming out of Afghans storming the airport in a desperate bid to escape the country, some even trying to cling onto planes as they were taking off.
Now thats acting out of real fear.

I could be wrong, but I thought that was pretty much what Dino was getting at....

it's not just Affhanistan either, it's the same for Iraq and Syria. Yemen isn't faring too well either and Iran and Turkey are getting pretty nervous( I bet) because they know it could be them next...

Where ever the US go, they reek havoc and left a right mess behind them....ostensibly for humanitarian purposes roll eyes

Crikey Dino, I didn't realise you were that close to the coal face..

I have a lot of family in the North and when I say a lot I mean (what feels like) half the province....I woudn't be one bit surprised if you knew one, two or half a dozen of them lol....Thankfully apart from just a few incidences (wholly inflicted by the thickest British soliders you ever met) none of us were involved..I think we must've been one of the luckiest families up there.

It was the IRA that got hold of an uncle of mine for doing business with the "wrong" people, that was the worst. A kinder more gentle gentleman you'd never meet....loved by everyone who met him. What they did to him was beyond disgusting. The poor man came back a shadow of himself, never really recovered.
