For those of you that grew up with toys, board games and such. What were your absolute favorite store bought games / toys as children?

Also to those that apply, I'm curious to know what your favorite candies were, in childhood. What sweets were the best?

As for me, some of my favorite games were Hungry, Hungry Hippos and Lite Bright. My favorite toys were Easy Bake Oven and Jacks. With regards to candy, Toffifay was my number one go to, for that sugary sensation; hands down, it was the absolute BEST to me grin

Games: Life, Clue, and Monopoly

Toys: Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea Submarine, Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning, Stanley Cup hockey, and my Thingmaker... grin

I was never too fussy about candies except I hated Circus Peanuts, Candy Corn, and CHoward Violet Candies which were the nastiest tasting crap ever.

Awesome. Thank you for the comment.

I completely agree with you on those "nasty" candies, with the only exception CHoward Violet Candies; I've never seen/heard of that one. However, I'll take your word for it innocent

I wasn't a girly girl either. I actually tormented my Barbie dolls and mutilated them. My mother swore she'd never buy me another one. "Thanks Mom!" I think she got the message. laugh

She DID however, get me a Red Yarn/haired Cabbage Patch Doll. You reminded me of that. I did love my Ciara-Ingrid ^_^ Ahhh memories.

You have me curious about those sweets, I've never heard nor tried any of them. Thank you for commenting wine

The Banshee bones and burger bites are crisps....banshee were salt and vinegar flavour in the shape of bones lol
Burger bites were bacon flavour I think in the shape of a ball.

Frosties were cola flavoured hard sweets coated with sugar and soft and gooey on the inside.
Desperate Dan and wham were long hard sticks of candy.
Desperate Dan were orange with black little nuggets of sugary candy stuck on them.
Wham were similar in make but I think were pink with yellow bits of sugary candy stuck in them.
If I could post pics I would..

That's gas you used to torture the dolls....I used to give them seriously bad make up and dodgy hair cuts....just reminded me too of my raggedy Anne and Andy dolls...loved them.
My favourite of all was a long flat stuffed beagle dog Teddy...he was nearly the length of me in bed at that age , 7 or 8...and I used to wrap his four legs around me in the bed like we were cuddling....heart beating loved him...

I didnt realise games and toys were two different things doh laugh

Toys.. None that I can remember because I found toys a bit dull and boring. Buuut, if it had a moving part or did somethign interesting then I was fascinated and loved to get inside it and see the moving parts, how it did something etc. My poor mother, she used to kill me for it....how I'm still alive I'll never know laugh

Games...mostly sport stuff, loved jigsaws on boring dark winters nights, chess (but no one else knew how to play it) puzzles. Books, endless books (I know, not a game..but dunno)

Sweets...fruit salads, black jacks, refesher bars, milk teeth.

I'm gonna Google those snacks. I'd like to see if there are photo's or video's of the ads or packaging

Forgot about Raggedy Ann. I loved those, but never had one myself. I'm tempted to go on eBay and get one. Ha ha

That teddy that was as long as the bed, sounds soooo kewl. I'd love something like that

Yes, the puzzles though. Wow, I remember loving those so much in my toddler years. They just grew with me from the card board ones, to the ones on Atari, then Tetris on Nintendo. OMG, that game would get stuck in my head bad when I was trying to sleep rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

I'll have to look up those snacks. Not familiar with them. Thank you for sharing banana

I had a horse when I was a kid.
I had toys, but never played with any.
Because, I had a horse.

As for candies?
I preferred cough drops.

Ha! I'd say play with the horse more than the toys. Toys can't play back or develop any kind of bond with you. You're lucky!
