why I am on the forums? Don't want to go to the pub every night, been there, done that, it's an expensive hobby and you always drink more than you planned to. Watching tv is not the thing I like to do the whole evening, and talking to the walls is boring, they never answer. So had to do something with my time, and since covid, I have a lot of time to kill, guess that goes for the most people here.

If you're referring to the forums then predominantly 'other cultures' consist of the Irish and there's only so much Guiness and shamrocks people can take, yanno

I originally made a profile because my brother in law thought it would be a good idea. On line dating was fairly new my sister did not think it was such a good idea. I got bored here and headed over to Poetry Corner. And then the forums. I realized at that time (people actually had conversations, and the atmosphere was a little different) that there was a lot about the world that I did not know. There was a lot about me I also have learned from the forums. It killed many a lonely evening after my husband passed. I have made lasting friendships. I take what I want from here and leave the rest. I take the useful knowledge and the bs it just stays here 
I have less lonely evenings even tho I am still alone. And some of my personal growth I owe to here and the contributors. So thank you all for participating.------ This thread is Archived ------

Yeh , I have to admit, back in the day , there were some very colourful characters with a diverse view on every topic , even to a point of romances forming. Unfortunately, maybe because of years of frustration, it’s become a political battleground where other people’s views are savaged to point of insults.
