Oh God.. It looks that way and too late to evac.IDA Landfall EXPECTED 11AM-1 PM, EST, but could be sooner. Ida is STILL picking up strength. Estimated to be a Cat 5.

The Police Chief of Grand Isle CHOSE to stay behind with the others. A recording was just released of him saying, "We need help now, everything is breaking around us". The response was "It will take 3 hours", the chief said, "We don't have 3 hours" No idea, how long ago that was... Or what official or agency he called. The entire island is under water. If they are at the police station, then they are probably on the roof. No mention of how many made it to the station
