My paternal grandfather was a railroader on the B&O for 45 years after he immigrated here from the the old country. He forced a motorcycle accident to avoid serving in wwii and didnt get his u.s. naturalization papers until 1938 to avoid Italian Internment camps. Yep he was an Italian WithOut Papers for many years… he was an original WOP.
