Masks work. But not when gaps at nose, gaps at side, worn under the nose, under the chin nor made of fabric you can see through or woven with lots of holes. Blue surgical are next to worthless. So are gater, bandanas and those white ones from the Dollar store. Everyone and their cousin is making or selling masks. Of course the bandanas are great for cowboy re-enactors. Rob that stage coach! What I have learned is multiple layers are needed. Cloth outer worn over a blue one is better. Silk has electrostatic properties that the virus gets stuck on and not through. The tighter the weave the better. Hold it up to the light. A liner made from a baby wipe is super good. You might want to wash it and dry it first unless having some oils, water and scent up your nose is your bag. Now we get to the N95. These are the best..95% blockage. BUT!>>>>China is mass producing them, India, the US, Mexico and the cousin who owns a factory. My boarder works in fast food. He picked up N95s at Menards lumber store. Paid about a buck each. I looked them over. Then got a catalog of stuff that had N95s for fifty cents each. But, pessimist I am...research time. Onto internet..reviews. OH! It seems these are counterfeit. I checked some on eBay. People said thin, not multi, straps wrong, broke, could blow right through. Bottom line. The one I have says Honeywell DF300N95. Plus NIOSH N 95. and a part number. The ones that are counterfeit do not. All I see is the N95 on plain white masks. That NIOSH N95 is the critical thing. That is the designation/code from the government stating these are true N95 masks. If it doesnt have that, might as well trust the rest of the masks types. I made a snout mask with cloth and a silk lining that I will be wearing over the N95 when I absolutely HAVE to leave my farm. For those who wish to stay safe....

here in Pakistan we only need a mask no matter if it is a Net mask but we should have a mask
If you aren't going to wear a mask that protects, why bother. Where is the world coming back to normal. Just because people are pretending doesnt counter the new cases and deaths and hospitalizations and rules. It is not normal. People just dont care anymore. They would rather gather and party like 2000 and take the risk than be bored. So go play with that loaded revolver. Good luck. Or..good riddance.

It's reason my face mask manufacturing business going low day by day now mask manufacturing business give me 15 to 20 dollars/day . But thanks God my old business yarn recycling again start . And easily I managed all daily routine life expenses .
I want to say thanks COVID-19 you give me good income source . It's a joke .
to believe masks work is ridiculous. masks are fiberous they will not stop a virus. none of these mask will have an airtite seal. the only masks that would actually work are the same one a scuba diver would use when diving underwater. to think a mask actually works then why have ppl that wear them some have gotten the virus. this wear a mask and u'll be bullet proof and/or get the shot will make u superman is a myth. if some body thinks that they would be safe wear a mask and get the shot then hang out in a virus infected test room. will u be safe no.
Masks are fourth line of defence which means masks were never about stopping anyone from catching Covid..Masks and social distancing was used as a vaccine till we had vaccines..Still wise to incorporate masks & social distancing when out and about..People need to stop thinking what they want..People need to stop and think about those who are high risk..The elderly and those who receive treatment for cancer and things like that..Wear seat belts for a reasons

One...of my ex ..girlfriends ....said to me .......kiss me where I wee. So I jumped out of. Bed. Went into. The toilet. And. Kissed the seat......????? Strange girl
I’ve already said my piece regarding masks. I DO believe this, for what it’s worth: the symbolic gesture (of wearing one) is somewhat better than nothing, and not necessarily because of actual “prevention”. It’s a constant, ‘in-your-face’ reminder to take precautions. Therefore, it becomes helpful... sort of like a closed gate reminds you that the yard belongs to another, ie, social distancing. But seriously, I agree with the posters who say the mask does any “actual” work, with the exception of triggering the “fight or flight” response. Taking the mask off, putting it back on, breathing in old air, all diminish or cancel out any utility.
ali110: a big majority of world's population is vaccinated
I bed to differ. All vaccines are not created equal. Alot of people are unvaccinated and/or under-vaccinated. 5.8 million doses have been administered thus far. Many countries have not obtained vaccines; and have few plans to manufacture enough vaccine for its citizens.
I picked up a box of 3M in a 5 pack ans paid almost 5 bucks each. I got them for my allergy rather than the Covid and like the results. I agree those flimsy masks almost everyone is using are a joke.

I want to add I got fume masks cause that was all the had but I tape up the inside of the fume mask part cause the valve is too flimsy for my allergy. Again liking the results.

I begin to wonder more and more if it isn't all a hoax about covid. From today on we have to show a qr-code to prove that we are vaccinated if we want to visit a pub, restaurant or cinema. A statesecretary told this morning to the newspaper that she doubted if it will work and that it has negative effects on the community. She was fired at once.
And when we look back at the Mexican flu pandemic, it was almost the same, only then we didn't had to wear a facemask, there was no 1.5 m society.
Remember when you ran away And I got on my knees And begged you not forget your mask Because I'd go berserk
Well you left me anyhow And then the corona got worse and worse And now you see I've gone Completely out of my mind
And they're coming to take me away ha-haaa They're coming to take me away ho ho hee hee ha haaa To the isolation ward Where life is beautiful all the time And I'll be happy to see those nice young men In their clean white coats and Hazmat suits And they're coming to take me away ha haaa
You thought it was a joke And so you laughed You laughed when I at least wear a mask And That losing you to Cronus would make me flip my lid
Right? You know you laughed I heard you laugh. You laughed and coughed You coughed and sneezed and then you left But now you know I'm utterly mad
And they're coming to take me away ha haaa They're coming to take me away ho ho hee hee ha haaa To the special home with trees and flowers and chirping birds And brain damaged Cronus vics who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes And they're coming to take me away ha haaa
I cooked your food I cleaned your house And this is how you pay me back For all my kind unselfish, loving deeds Ha! Well you just wait They'll find you yet and when they do They'll put you in the Cronus hotel You mangy mutt
And they're coming to take me away ha haaa They're coming to take me away ha haaa ho ho hee hee To the Coronus vic where life is beautiful all the time And I'll be happy to see those nice young men In their clean white Hazmat suits
And they're coming to take me away To the Coronus home with trees and flowers and chirping birds And Antifa brain damaged basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes And they're coming to take me away ha haaa!
