i am not sure that I am thrilled by autonomous 18-wheelers let alone 4-wheelers traveling near me.

Well then , you'll just have to get over your worries , US is on autonomous control at the moment and there you are worried about getting run over doh

Big brother's watching you... uh oh ... I stay off the highway, I think I saw a truck with no driver, I had to look twice... laugh
I know how to take the back roads, even on a vacation...

... laugh ... beer

SAN FRANCISCO — If you're sipping a Budweiser somewhere in Colorado Springs, Colo., you just might have a robot to thank for that thirst-quenching brew.

Last week, self-driving truck start-up Otto teamed with Anheuser-Busch to successfully deliver a semi-tractor full of beer from Fort Collins, through Denver and on to the southern Colorado city in the shadow of Pikes Peak.

For the majority of that 120-mile trip, the truck's driver left his seat and observed the road from the comfort of the sleeper berth. An Otto video of the drive shows the slightly disconcerting image of a massive 53-foot trailer filled with 2,000 cases of Bud rumbling down I-25 with no human in the cab... uh oh

Which reminds me, why did it take so long for Coors beer sales to make it to Ohio?
You have the largest single brewing facility in the world in Colorado. wave

Self driving cars is good, no more drunk idiots on the highway. And how about burglars who drive away with high speed, often chased by the police, bringing other people's live in danger? Maybe if they can't drive away like that the crimerates will go down too.
Older people can go to the hospital without help, can go for a trip to their children themselves, so I see great possibilities and positive points in selfdriving cars.

You are totally right. The technology isn't there.
The systems are highly vulnerable to errors, and there is EXTREME danger of being hacked.
In other words some JERK or some lethally dangerous person can take over the controls of these things and steer you off a bridge, swerve you into oncoming traffic, and can drive women or children, or even men, Ugh, to the wrong place, where a person, or group of people, will rob, maim or kill them.
NOTHING IS "FOOL-PROOF!"

Drivers in Dublin may drive like bats out of hell but I hav not heard of pedestrians being hit…. That no hit record might be explained though because of all the walk trails Dublin has everywhere. The midwestern auto group for high end vehicles near me keeps drivers jazzed up and no one wants to rain on their sales parade. Jest my two cents. laugh

self driving vehicles of any sort are a bad idea. no matter what any company says a self driving vehicle cannot be trusted. just like with modern cars.(cars that are just computers with wheels) u have a potential bomb that some one could hack into. we aint good enough with tech yet. these things should not be on the road. only on test courses for years
