Conscription exists in Israel for all Israeli citizens over the age of 18 who are Jewish (both genders), or Druze and Circassian (male only); Arab citizens of Israel are not conscripted. Arab citizens can enlist if they want to but are not required by law.------ This thread is Archived ------

But I thought the draft doesn't actually do anything in America now, why not just get rid of it for men? Or go the other way and have a civic service for all?

I dont get why we need the draft anyway , ( I sure as h3LL didnt !!) , and Women are not on the front lines anyway in a combat zone. So let them join as they please. I am against anyone being drafted , even its in a real 'war time situation' , because American's will answer the call of duty if / when the time comes.

Instead of abolishing the draft, Joe Bidet "opens" it up to include females. How very Progressive! Bidet's too old to draft, so what does he care.
So tell me did Carter or Clinton or Bush or Obama or Joseph Bidet stop the draft?? Heil no! And the Repubes wouldn't think of it!
