My little fella (Toby, Jack Russell). Was 12 when he died at the beginning of this year. This isn't to be a sad story at all...but I'm the type to like some animals over humans...and plus I want Toby 'remembered' I got him the day of my 30th birthday along with his sister which my mam took. He was white mostly with some brown on his face and two brown love heart shapes on his back...funny but true. He lived with me for the 8 year stint thay I lived alone and he couldnt have been a more perfect housemate if I was given the chance to create one.
When I got him neutered he cried that night I brought him home but a light cry as he couldn't cry hard due to his op. I brought him to bed with me...and every day after that would wait at the end of the stairs at night until I had my night time routine done and was ready for bed. All I had to do was say OK and you would hear this little pattern patter of paws up the stairs and around the corner jump straight onto the bed. He was loyal, as most every dog is....he could certainly understand every word I said and would lift me within seconds on a bad day. He lived the latter years of his life with me when I moved home with my parents. He got cancer...I got him an operation and he was given a life expectancy of however long the little bit of cancer left in his system would grown back. It was left as it was on his kidney and removing it would mean he would bleed out. He would sit all day right beside my dad when he would be in his workshop cutting up sticks. He knew when you were upset and would jump on your lap and lick your face. He would snuggle up to you when you finally found that spot on the couch ready to chill for the night...he was the cutest little thing ever and was nothing but a joy to whomever met him.
He deserves his everlasting peace now as he was the best companion ever.

My daughter's Staff(ish) Bull Terrior Malcolm is clingy like that. We had a falling out last week about whether I was well enough to be pinned to the sofa. The hurt looks he gave me when I finally managed to push him off me...

Music is not just for therapy
That sounds like it has something to do with therapy, Irish.

Malcolm's a lump.
Winston the Staff(ish) puppy is like a supersonic weapon of mass destruction. He gets so ridiculously excited when I first arrive, a couple of weeks ago he jumped up, ate part of my cardigan and I didn't realise until I saw three of the buttons land on the kitchen worktop.
I do my best to ignore him until he sits down and then I bribe him with a smear of peanut butter. He's a reasonably calm dog once he's had his peanut butter fix.
