I noticed this on Quora, it made me laugh so I thought I'd share it. (Well really I just thought it would get Dino rattled.)
Why is England rarely acknoledged as a small country?
Because it punches so far above its weight that many do not like to admit this simple fact. England, with an area of 130,000 sq km (this for US readers would place it as the 32nd largest state in the USA), is in fact smaller than Bangladesh and Nepal, and almost exactly the same size as Greece; it would rank as the 95th smallest country. However as a major part of the UK it somehow manages to have the (or one of the) World’s greatest Capitals, have one of the World’s most powerful Armed Forces, host one of the World’s major currencies, and be one of the World’s richest countries. It was also partly responsible for developing the World’s largest Empire.

Not bad for a little’un.
And we had factories the longest.
Yet none of this could have been possible without Wales and it's great contribution to a vision of Britain.
That’s the spirit ! More blogs about the good old days & past glories of the British empire, just to encourage a newer/ younger generation to participate on the forums !
