The Good, the Bad and the Ugly! (4)

The facts have been released concerning the assessment of the four years of the Trump administration.
It seems that the result are less than spectacular and not surprisingly, dismal is many areas. Trumps has been touting the greatest economy of all time - when in actuality, it was mediocre at best. The bitter truth is that the Trump presidency was much like the Trump industries he runs: unremarkable and self-serving.

While the country was languishing in failed and chaotic policies - Trump made more than $1.6 billion dollars in outside income during his four years of elected office. He refused to distance himself from his business holdings and often mixed his own interests with the interests of America. This kind of graft and corruption is a stain on the presidency.

Keep posting the facts and maybe some of the gaslit ones will see the real light.

A couple of days ago, a man in Michigan posted how great it was that Trump donated his salary. This man had no idea how much Trump grifted from US taxpayers during his term.

With time, the stains Trump cast on the presidency and the country will fade. The scholars and historians have already placed him at the bottom of presidential achievers. Objectively, Trump was the worst (or fourth-worst, per one academic) president in US history. Can't argue with that. They have the receipts. The malcontents will still try to come up with reasons to point the finger at everyone else.

Trump convinced groups of biased, low-information Americans that other American citizens are the enemy. That keeps me awake at night, wondering if this hateful, destructive mindset can be reversed. When I see the willful ignorance of some of the right-wingers here, I have doubt. When I came to this site a couple of years ago, Trumpists called me a socialist. Now they call me a commie, and they really seem to think that epithet applies. They are indifferent to history, accurate definitions of political/economic systems, how our nation works, and so on.

That's why we have to stay vigilant and expose the GOP as they try to lay the groundwork for further destabilization of our constitutional principles, be it through voter suppression or the normalization of nuts like Marjorie Taylor Green, Lauren Boebert, Paul Gosar, and other disturbed people who somehow became legislators.

Trump in a sense gave permission for the bad behavior we see in the GOP today--the open bigotry, calls to violence, and worship of gun culture, the results of which we saw on January 6, and more recently in Kenosha and Michigan.

So we post truth. Trolls who live here can deal with it as they see fit. It gives them something to do.
