I try to respond rather than react. If I find there is anger arising I will take great care not to react, but instead try to understand where the anger is coming from but firstly respond in a way that difuses the anger. I then try to work out why the anger arose and with the awareness that the anger was created by me, work out why and deal with it.
When I get angry, I move away from there until the anger subsides completely. I respond only after the anger subsides, because whenever I have responded in anger, it gets converted into react.

You've had years of practice I reckon, it can be difficult at times for me anyway, but walking away seems to be the thing to do..
Decent_Love: I try to observe my breath until the irritable feelings subside. it's a meditation technique. But some feelings cannot be calmed down easily.
I have tried that, I think it takes lots of practice
Decent_Love: How do you control your irritating emotions?
I was born patient ( something to do with culture) There is great Chinese proverb : "A moment of patience can prevent a great disaster and a moment of impatience can ruin a whole life"
And it so simple just walk away or to turn off computer. Just make yourself busy with something else.
Whenever my irritable emotions are out of control, I use this technique: I step away from that place and start observing my own breath until the emotions come under control so that i do not harm anyone physically or verbally.
galrads: The pretense of this thread topic is misleading because "Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself." ~ Shaw, George Bernard.
The most difficult thing in life is to know yourself.

Do you ever read your anger or just react?
How do you react whenever you get angry?
Similarly, how do you react to other feelings?
