DeTempsEnTemps: I don't think you're getting the whole picture, instead of counting your pennies count your votes correctly. When I said look back as of 1/20/21 I clearly meant during Trump times zero inflation. Some people like to solve the math problem from the end results, try to solve it from the start to get it right. Inflation or no inflation use your best judgment and handle it as an equation to get it right. This was a clarification ,merci beaucoup.
Everyone has to get the most for your money these days, vegetarian is a good economical way of feeding.

Try googling "why gas prices so high" and educate yourself. Lsten to fairly reputable sources, not the low IQ Looney tune on youtube.
Inflation is caused by 2 things. One is the idiots' scrambling around to increase the population "Please come to our country! Please come to our state, there's something for everybody, and for god's sake, get married and have a big family!" Second is leftist policies squandering TRILLIONS of dollars on fool mandates and compromises like "infrastructure" and "immigration REFORM." Locking people in their houses and ridiculous mandates like forced vaccinations, forced wearing of masks, open borders. ARE YOU KIDDING? ANYTHING that increases the population anywhere means less for every one and more pollution, congestion and disease. And of course, poverty. But most human IDIOTS keep scrambling to "grow" their towns and cities. Any IDIOT can see the result. And what do human IDIOTS do about it? They scramble to fight for the "right" to have more kids and more mass invasion which is ALL that "Immigration" is. S T U P I D

then top it off by printing Money as if there was no tomorrow!
rohaan: I’ve written about this recently, but would still like to read other views. I’m (nearly) boycotting eating out, anywhere, ie, cafes, full service restaurants, food trucks, drive-ins/fast food. The prices are outrageous. A very, very small sandwich, advertised as “Artisan Incredible Reuben with salad” was actually very thin, on what looked like Melba toast— perhaps two teaspoons of krout, a sliver of corned beef, and if there was Swiss, it wasn’t enough to notice. The “salad was perhaps half of a romaine lettuce leaf and a crouton. Appallingly tiny meal for $19.00 PLUS tip. This is becoming the NORM…I want to point out something, and I “ get” the overhead argument…Here is the actual cost at a Kroger’s, for a chef salad with chicken.
Lettuce—- let’s say half a romaine———-$.70 Tomato—- one Roma or vine—————. $.60 Carrot—— one California Crisp————. $.35 Ripe olives—- five or six, sliced—————$.25 Green onions— half a bunch——————$.90 Radishes——— three or four——————$.25 Egg, hard-cooked———————————$.15 Swiss cheese, 1 Oz.——————————$.75 Chicken breast, small————————— $1.05 Dressing and croutons—————————$.90 TOTAL———————————————-$5.90
Actual cost, without tip————————$21.95
A four hundred percent write-up. Ludicrous. I’m not going to pay it. Your thoughts?

Immigration most probably lowers inflation. Importing somebody of adult comes without the costs of an American worker who will likely demand higher wages and certainly require being taught to read and write. These would be costs for you to bear. Giving birth in America is far more expensive than importing a ready made adult from somewhere cheap.
But you can't really do it because you'll get it twisted. As deflationary as china and mass immigration are there'll be pushback from your own family. The west is now so sterile and hostile to family that it's 20 years away from population collapse.

The pandemic disrupts the supply of cheap and easy labour and makes it harder to buy from China. This will cause prices to go up.
Do the above in addition to putting more Americans on welfare and the prices will go up even more. The credit and free money is based on trade relations with the east, buying from people willing to save is what prints our money without it losing value. Globalization is like moving to a poor country where your money goes a lot further, moving from rich country to poor is basically a free lunch.

Connecting singles is deflationary. When you can get a woman way out of your league because of where you were born, this is deflation.
In fact the internet is deflationary in all ways not just the exploitative. It's wonderfully efficient, goods and services can very easily find where they will be most useful. This is deflationary.
The internet intensifies the ABC. Always be cost-cutting. Not necessarily is it a blessing for workers but it's a great place to shop. It's the opposite of the 1970s.
Working conditions are now shockingly bad across much of the private sector. Those who work are now competing in a far more competitive market.
We don't have lazy workers what we have is too many people who are not gainfully employed. It's the welfare class robbing workers of the 15 hour working week promised by Keynes. We could all work 15 hours a week if everybody did it. The old days of 40 hours hardly working has become 30 hours hard work, it should be 15.
And even those not gainfully employed are not necessarily lazy. They lack confidence and security I think the wisest thing to do, as is being done, is to legalize working and signing on. There are fewer people in this world who would prefer to do nothing constantly than the welfare trap suggests. Just give people some money if they don't earn enough, no strings attached. The strings don't help.
You could make that like the 21st century new deal. The capitalists win and the factories are run like the mines of Mordor, like Amazon, but you only have to be there for 15 hours and nobody starts penniless. Industry is ruthlessly competitive but no person is that desperate. Compromise.
Mercedes_00: That's dirt cheap compared to what I pay
A Chefs’ Salad is more than $22.00 where you live? (Wondering if you read what I wrote right…I gave the actual grocery store cost, then the salad cost in a restaurant. Hope this clarifies..)
