Not my favourite either tbh. This one was a rescue at 2wks old. Raised by a dog. All the feline instincts came through, but have been joined by some canine characteristics. Sleeps at my feet, mews at, and has attacked strangers kinda stuff. Never a dull moment with these two
you are indeed honoured, the ancient Egyptians worshipped them.
jac_the_gripper: I'm pretty sure growing certain plants in the communal garden and laughing uncontrollably on my own in my flat would lead to legal consequences over here.
but think of the benefits of the laughter therapy!!!
jac_the_gripper: I make do with inhaling deeply when youngsters speed through the village, their windows open and their cars visibly trembling from improbably low bass like the vehicle is in imminent danger of cardiac arrest.
OMG!!! Howling with laughter here!!!
jac_the_gripper: Eupatorium Cannabinum is native to the UK, but it's the wrong time of year for it. Preparations are so cost prohibitive they surely must be stored in a vault and delivered by burly men in bullet-proof gear.
It costs just a few euros for a vast amount here!! I'm talking dried ready to be infused. It doesn't matter what time of year it is if it was dried when it was in season!!
Just looked up it's name in English and this time it said Sideritis Angustifola or Cats Tail. This is the variety of Zahareña that grows here locally and has the properties I mentioned. It grows all over the place!!!
jac_the_gripper: I've just ordered some Pau D'Arco on KNenagh's suggestion, mostly for it's anti-inflammatory properties, but it's anti-microbial/parasitic properties may help if I have some ulceration, or bugs/creatures are causing my other symptoms.
Sounds good. is Pau d'Arco a plant? The cats tail/zahareña would be perfect if you had ulceration. I cured my stomach ulcer with it without taking any of the horse strength antibiotics they prescribe for the helicobacter pilory bacteria which has terrible side effects. I took 1 infusion a day every day for several weeks until I didn't feel any symptoms anymore.
jac_the_gripper: BREAKNG NEWS: I've just successfully made a call-back telephone appointment (three millionth time lucky), but unfortunately it's with the idiot doctor. No one wants to consult with him if they can possibly help it, hence he was the only one with slots still available.
You nearly had us excited there for a few seconds!! Don't do this to us!! You know we rely on one another to lift up our spirit!! Mind you some don't need any help lifting any spirit! They have quite good elbow grease!!!
jac_the_gripper: He once arranged my reserved call-back appointent to be made by the receptionist late on a Friday afternoon. She rang to tell me he was going on holiday and he might be able to help in a week, or two. I almost thought I could hear doubt in her voice, but surely I must have been mistaken.
Sure! Must have been your imagination! Incredible how little their oath is worth at times ....
tomcatty: go I take VitD3 10001U once a day it builds up your immune system, and at this time of year that's important, as there's not much light for your body to build up its own reserves. Fresh fruits and veg wherever possible , although I realise this is expensive at times.
Fortunately, I have a friend who is good at foraging, so we can stretch the cash in this way.
You have got me thinking now, so it's back to a bit of research and talking to the seniors, they will usually pass on bits of knowledge,
I take D3 for it's anti-inflammatory properties, but not that much. I'll consider a higher dose, thankyou.
If I go to the local Co-op at abut 7pm they reduce the veg down to pennies...and then I get a 20% discount because I have my daughter's staff discount partner card.
I also forage a little.
Fresh veg is my cheapest option as well as being my favourite food group and suitable for an anti-inflammatory protcol diet.
