galrads: New York City Council members want to grant non-citizens the right to vote in local elections. I think this move devalues citizenship and may decentivize other aliens here, legally or illegally, to seek itizenship.

Would the British allow me, a non-citizen living in England, or non-citizen on holiday there, to vote in England's local elections.

Why would you even think about voting here in the Uk when you clearly "Hate Us"? Maybe try and sort you're own Country out first before trying to "Ridicule" the UK

Why didn't you go to the city hall and asked the question there you would have got the answer immediatly instead of asking it here on the forum? Or maybe you are illegal in the UK, as the British like their freedom and despise any form of identity formular, it is a safe heaven for illegals. The UK rather prefers to complain about the current of illegal refugees and to blame others for it .confused

Other counties in EU begin to admit legal foreigners to their local elections. Do they hope to prevent civil problems with it?? The idea's of the enlightment on which the Western world is based on begin to have an inverse effect. It gives foreigners the tools to use the system against itself and its own people (foreign attorneys, foreign representatives, foreign business,....) his may create dangers for our democracy. Does it worry people?
NO WAY!! As long as their fun, their individual freedom and their luxury confort is garanteed even a dictatorial government could be elected!!
LONG LIVE THE NEOLIBERALISM !! (cynic)
