I'm not bothered wasting my time trying to figure out other people simply because my backyard is the only place of interest that interest's me.
I ooze confidence with a few things & if that is seen as me having an ego well I simply don't care

I always thought it was pride and fear that were enemies of love, but now that you mention it, I guess both boil down to ego...
When I was about 16 or 17 someone said to me "if it weren't for ego, none of us would so much as wash ourselves, our ego isn't about how we see ourselves, it's how we want others to see us"...

I always thought ego equalled fear. Most I have seen with what I percieved with big egos were always afraid of losing something if you looked closely at them you could see the fear. Afraid of losing something, afraid of not getting their way. To me there is a big difference between self respect and ego. I seem to have both. It depends on which is in charge for the day on how I behave. Sometimes self respect has to go around and clean up egos messes left behind when it in charge Interesting topic.
