We hear so much about "big pharma", usually not in a positive light.
However, we witness at the supermarkets the first thing people panic buy is toilet paper.
We had toilet paper factories mothballed pre covid due to lack of demand, then they're up and running again 24/7 to meet demand.
I'm no wizz investor at all, but I did accurately predict the price would crash and they'd be heavily discounting it. The same will happen again. All those silly people proudly displaying their overpriced jumbo pack in the carpark will sure have egg on their faces when the crash comes.
Be good if some loony can formulate a paranoid conspiracy theory about lizard people running Big Toilet Paper, or if Bill Gates could buy a toilet paper factory to wind the loonies up a bit. Be funny as.
I have to admit I’ve allowed myself to freak a tad about toilet tissue. The other day, someone in our neighborhood placed two 24-roll packs on the curb. (I surmised they were probably moving and there just wasn’t room). Well, I’m a bit of an opportunist, and no one else was picking them up, I waited all day, so I scarfed them up. As I was putting them away (I had to create room for them) I realized just how badly I needed them…I was down to my last 8 packs of 12, 2 packs of 9, 4 packs of 4 ( Dollar Store), cupboard of 10, emergence hides-holes of two, and two on the spinner. Oh, and one in the car…getting low…
rohaan: I can maybe shine a light on your question. I think if you’ve ever had to micro-manage home economics (and according to research, 97% of us have) and paper products, laundry soap, dish soap were needed, but so were other items, we had to make a choice. So, those items became “dear”, and running out posed a cash problem. I, too, have a lion’s share of home products. Not to bore you, but in my storage “nook/closet”, I have at least two years’ supply of: toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, laundry soap, dish soap, bath and kitchen spray cleaners, windex, powdered cleanser, bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, hand/body lotion, aspirin, Tylenol, Velcro, masking tape, scotch tape, tacks, magnet backing, needles, thread, auto-detail kits, dryer sheets, rubber bands, staples, postage stamps, writing pads/grocery list pads, envelopes, cards, light bulbs, batteries, air fresheners, pens, pencils, lighters, incense, candles, coffee filters, stove burner drip trays, sticky note pads, trash bags, storage containers, several kinds of glue and several new typewriter ribbons (yes, I still have mine!)
Oh, and..
Toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, Q-tips, emery boards, floss, handi-wipes, lip balm. That’s all I can think of for now
Mercedes_00: I saw big toilet paper on the subject line..I was excited because I thought Pat had come across a new brand of toilet paper that had gigantic sheets.
I can't believe people would want to discuss bloody politics on a bloody toilet paper topic
You're on me today, Merc.. Have I upset our balance in some way??

Mikey why is it I have to treat you like cotton wool because if I don't you have a thing I'm at you
I wasn't at you at all Mikey & in future I will never try and discuss something with you because it get's tiring when people can say what they think but when it comes to me I have to do the cotton wool thing

What else would politics belong on, if not toilet paper??
