Boris Johnson is due to set out his plans to scrap all remaining Covid legal restrictions in England. While this is good news, I fear that I have less reason than most to rejoice in it. Having your freedom restored isn’t such a big event when you don’t have much sense of losing it in the first place. My lifestyle isn’t typical, I admit, but the only loss of freedom I felt was the freedom to go into Tesco without a face mask, which also had the knock-on loss of freedom to see clearly what I was putting in my trolly, on account of having to identify my desired products through steamed up glasses.
Even that minor loss of freedom was more than made up for by the rather agreeable two months paid absence from work that was gifted to me at the start of the pandemic. I’m pleased for those who have suffered more than I have, though.
Also, my commiserations to all those who desperately wanted to believe the whole thing was just a plot to impose permanent tyrannical control on the population. They must be so disappointed.

In the words of the genius Bo Jo. "let's have a party,"

To be fair Britain has been remarkably brave by comparison to the effete in other lands. I always said that the pandemic was inverting the spirit of the blitz like captain Tom's charity, a fraud run by deceitful cowards who take from the many to give to the few. The spirit of the blitz lives on in our resistance to dismantling the freedoms grandad died for.
And England particularly and it seems to depend on how much of your lifestyle you actually earned. Wales and Scotland live at least a couple of social classes above anything they do which is important in a society of upper class hypochondria. Just a pity they don't really have any money.

Although I did refer to my lifestyle, it would have been more accurate to allude to my lack of one. So the question of it being earned doesn't really arise for me.
But the good news is that at least you get to keep me. I'll not be moving to Australia for higher wages because they execute dogs. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?
To be honest I kinda would prefer if everyone still wore the masks, ours are to come off 28th. I loved the anonymity of going into the shop and no one approaching me coz they weren't sure if it was me or not...or rounding a corner and people almost jumping out of your way. Call me miserable but there's very few people I actually like talking to in real life. Not because I'm a snob but I hate small talk.

No, I'm not one for standing chatting about nothing, either. My two immediate neighbours speak to me if they are around when I go out, but as long as I keep moving when I answer them, I am out of earshot quite quickly. They would still identify me wearing a mask, so masks don't even have that advantage for me. Other than those neighbours, it is highly unlikely I will run into anybody who I am on chatting terms with. I really don't like the masks, and only wear one if I absolutely have to.

I agree on the glasses front they are annoying when they fog up the lenses and you can see nothing.. Ain't we a pleasant bunch lol But to be fair there's only so much you can say about the weather.
