I'm afraid it doesn't work. The vikings had swords and spear. Still pretty effective. Bruce Lee could probably kill me with a deadly look. There will always be a scumbag in the crowd who could make a sharp object out of a stick he found on the street... By the way simple stones can be pretty deadly ha, in the wrong hands.. The answer is no. But in some heavenly future ruled by one devine boss, a god we all looked up to, we might all suddenly behave. Until then, no.
ali110: ohh, that's interesting, what gave Einstein that idea and how would you explain?
Here is a link to Albert Einstein's letter to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1939 about nuclear bombs. It was written by an Italian-American Nuclear Physicist and signed by Einstein. This letter started the American Nuclear program. You can see this letter at the FDR Library and Museum in Hyde Park, NY next to the typed speech FDR typed about Infamy and that was not the original word he was going to use but changed it.
Selenite: What do you think would happen if no countries or states had weapons of any kind?
As there been a time in the evolution of mankind when there were no weapons at all?
Eaten by a bear.
Although the longest we've gone without picking up a weapon is probably right now. We've consolidated violence and war into police forces, the army and finally the nuclear bomb. But even that's emasculating. Have you read fight club or looked at the people who like Putin? They simply ignore the pacifism demanded by the office and the nuclear bomb. Why? Because we are evolved for lion attack.
Which is the difference between us and Russia. The west is more leisurely it's much harder to provoke it's people into fighting for the west. The Russian public is much more chomping at the bit. It doesn't take much for Putin to get away with Ukraine. But Brexiteers would never invade southern Ireland because of issues with the northern Irish border.
That would be the closest equivalent to Putin and to us that would seem completely absurd. Britain invading Southern Ireland to force it out of the EU in the interests of Brexiteers. It wouldn't happen, but it is the same.
If we were Russian in mentality then Brexit would entail an Ireland united under British rule. But we are not. Imperialism does not dominate the spirit of young minds in Britain. On the contrary it's cutting our losses. More likely to hand northern Ireland back to Ireland. Eject the drug addicts and the violent nationalists, not bring them in.
Human extinction is the hypothetical end of the human species due to either natural causes such as population decline due to sub-replacement fertility, an asteroid impact or large-scale volcanism, or anthropogenic (human) causes, also known as omnicide.
According to the genetic bottleneck theory, between 50,000 and 100,000 years ago, human populations sharply decreased to 3,000–10,000 surviving individuals
Four billion years from now, the increase in Earth's surface temperature will cause a runaway greenhouse effect, creating conditions more extreme than present-day Venus and heating Earth's surface enough to melt it. By that point, all life on Earth will be extinct.

Hi Sel
They found the remains of a man, they've worked out he was 24 or 25 at the time of his death and lived at least some 8,000 years ago (it might even be 10k, not entirely sure to be honest). It was an incredible find becuase he was pretty much in tack and here were still partial remains of his shoes (made from thick mossy material/grasses etc and bound with ropes fashioned out of sineuous grasses), he had a rucksack a bow bag and some arrows.
Anyway, on some of the arrow tips they found blood. The scientists did dna tests, and it turned out to be someone else's blood (he had been shot in the back by an arrow and killed).
I wont bore you with what else the scientists gleaned as it's irrelevant to your question. But one thing is for sure, he died by someone else's hand and he had shot at and hit, probably hurt, someone else. Why, they don't know, but what it shows is that even our most primitive ancestors were trying to kill each other....
And just in case I haven't sent you to sleep I suspect we picked up our aggression gene when homo sapiens met with the Neanderthals. Neanderthals were a very very intelligent but docile species of human Home sapiens on the other hand were highly aggressive and even though they interbred with the neanderthals they still killed and totally wiped out the Neanderthals. Now, some 80,000 generations later the vast majority of humans have at least 1 or 2% neanderthal genes in them, excecpt for Africans who hailed from south of Northern Africa)...
Sooo... I guess my answer to your question is that even if we didn't have weapons we'd still be fighting and trying to killl each other....and we had weapons going back at least 8,000 years..

Sorry, that should read " he was pretty much in tact"
