Do you think people who are above average looking get better opportunities in life than those who are less attractive?

Why or why not?

Not at all! Unless they want to be a model?

Brains are more important.

I agree, the brains are more important but there are a few that hire people, other than models, just because they enjoy the eye candy and is willing to take the risk for their own selfish reasons.

A brain without a body is just a lump of jelly. I think the body is important, perhaps more so or it gets eaten by bugs on the ground in its inability to escape.grin

I'm sorry, but a body without a brain can have a multitude of uses, where as the other way round is rather useless. gift

Not sure about people above average looking getting better opportunities. Depends on gender also.

There is a fallacy that good looking women are most probably not also clever/intelligent for instance. I doubt a good looking man has ever been asked something like "Are you sure you are tri-lingual? You're far too pretty to be that intelligent?" doh (this was in UK)

In fact Hedy Lamarr was more well known for her beauty and acting career than for her mathematic and physics skills.

Beauty can be a double edge sward depending what field the person "works" in. What culture and which part of the world ...

Course I do!! From way back when we used to have hysterical repartees on the threads hug

I never know whether to say it's good to see anyone again on CS as it could mean all number of things "being back here" ... Also, so many people have moved on to another plane journey these last couple of years that it's always good to see someone is till "around" and full of spirit but not in spirit!! dancing

Me? Grateful every day for the air I breath, the good food I eat, hot water in the shower, heating and a warm bed to sleep in. Without forgetting my loved ones being as well as they can under the circumstances and even though we can't see one another as much as we'd like! So yes! good!!

I remember the fun we had, hilarious threads and we all got along great, well most of us. I have a feeling that the "old timers" are still around but aren't interested in all the drama and political threads. I don't blame them. I had to take a long break myself. I wish things were different now. And yes, a lot also jumped ship, where did they all go I wonder? Nowadays so many people have multiple profiles and I have no idea who is who and who to trust.very mad

I feel the same as you. We have so much to be thankful for. I am humble as can be.

I think the political threads were always there but the site was presented differently and only by categories (Ithink) so you had to go on the political category to access those threads etc...

All the people I know who "jumped ship" I hope to not see for a long while yet and hope they're as happy as can be in their new "form" ...

As for the multiple profiles, I'm never sure either apart from a couple of extremely obvious ones when they pop up ...

I think you may be right about about the political threads. The site has made some changes. I liked it better when it was the original way. I often think about a lot of the members we would interact with. Those sure were the good ole days. Maybe we can switch things up a bit instead of the negative vibes I see going on.
I remember way back when you were changing jobs/careers, I think. If so, did it work out for you?

OMG!!! my change of job/career was way way back!!!! grin

I moved to Spain, totally changed my lifestyle from being a secondary school teacher with a husband and a mortgage. To being single, working as little as possible just to pay the bills. Bought a very old house in the old part of town and did it up. Have a veg garden most years. I create works of art and do healing sessions. I also create cultural events and exhibitions to showcase my work and the work of other artists. Up until 2020 it was a pretty cool life with all these events and get togethers and live music every week. A bit quieter now as it still hasn't picked up properly again. But having the first exhibition since 2020 in June!!! yay

How have things been with you?

Yup, that was way way back. It sounds like you are enjoying life. That's so cool that you had the courage to start a new beginning. I'm happy for you.

Things with me are pretty good, I would never be brave enough to do what you did. I had a death in the family a while back, my cousin. She died from an undiagnosed cancer. She had 3 kids and her husband bailed out on her and divorced her while she was sick. UNBELIEVABLE! My dad has been suffering from lung cancer and a aneurism in his stomach but he is a tough cookie. I have to stay strong and hope for the best. Other than that, I'm doing good, thank goodness.

I'm happy to hear your daughter is better now, thank goodness.

My aunt and uncle were appalled that he could be so ruthless. It was disgusting actually.

I'm so sorry about your dad. It's so hard to loose people but sometimes they suffer too much or too long and even though we wish they wouldn't pass, we can't be selfish.
Thanks for your condolences and the same to you.
And for the well wishes for my dad.

I'm happy to see you still here on cs, it's been nice to

I think in some cases it's more about sleeping ones way to the top & having affairs with the boss.
