First off, we define ourselves as intelligent Also, I assume we are not alone in this universe and space aliens actually walk, or whatever, among us.
Ok, Its been proven that primates share the greater percent of our DNA yet we see ourselves as more intelligent because, as an example, they throw their poo around while we play with chemistry sets.
To the point, lets say humans have a greater percent of the DNA of those space aliens among us. Now, how intelligent do we appear to them?

There is a wast difference in intelligence between individuals of the species of Homo Sapiens. Some are geniuses others use collective intelligence to solve situations, others are plain dumb. I belive there are no beings in the universe smarter then dumb people. As a matter of fact there is proberbly not even any smarter then roach.

You are sounding more arrogantly American every day.
galrads: You are sounding more arrogantly American every day.
Well dumb people believe in a lot of things! Aliens, fairies, hobbit, ghosts, witches, santa, devil and gods. Still they are smarter then any amoebae on other planets. If you run the numbers on what the chance are for intelligent life in the universe it's like 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance. Probably not enough zeros there but my finger got tired!
The chance of intelligent life in the universe. 1: The star have to exist long enough. 2: The star have to right size. 3: The star can not be to active with radiation. 4: The star needs to have a planetary system. 5: That system must have a giant planet or brown dwarf to stabilaze the planetary system. 6: The habtal zone can not be to narrow. 7: There must be a planet in that zone that has suitable size and age. 8: That planet must have a rotation that is not to fast or to slow. 9: That planet must have suitable earth elements and water. 10: The planet must have a moon, without tides evolution will be slow and also vulcanic eruptions are needed. 11: An atmosphere that is permanent is needed to be stable for billions of years. 12: Temperature can not be extreme. 13: If all of this exist still it's just a fluke that aminoacids, coal, water and electricity is combined to form RNA. 14: Yet again two different types of RNA has to be combined to create DNA. 15: The DNA needs outside stimulus to mutate before it perish. Most likely by radiation. 16: If mutations are started it takes billions of years to create intelligent life. 17: The time factor. Disaters happen, meteor strike, etc. 18: That intelligent life has to exist right now! Not before or after our civilasation. In reality the chance is none existent that we will encounter aliens here or elsewhere!
Jaavisst: You can not project feelings to none existing beings, not with outher humans as well. You like me has nothing to do so you are only creating something to keep the thread going. Start another thread instead! Maybe about rolling R:s in language or something similary important.

What's the point in assuming that. when they almost certainly dont?
But, for auguments sake, if an alien force were to treat the history of humanity as a clinical case history of a single human being, they would probably present a disgnosis of, chronic paranoid delusions, pathologically liable to commit acts of extreme violence and cruelty against any other human being who he perceives as an enemy. Crininally insane with a few brief lucid intervals. And then maybe conclude were are a lost cause with an incurable psychogical illness.....Best leave em to it....

Are you saying intelligent space aliens might see primates smarter than humans?

I do believe there is "other" life out there somewhere but how do we know if we're more intelligent of not if we've not met them yet? How do we know that the other life out there are not "monitoring" our every move? because we're not intelligent enough to know?
I have a silver charm of one of these little guys I love him to "Bits"
bodleing2: The reason space aliens dont walk amongst us, if they exist at all, is because the unimaginal distances between us and even the nearest planets outside our own solar system are just too large. It's worth considering our solar system and the distances involved to get an idea of the vastness of outer space. We've all seen a map of our solar system in various books, but the fact is, it would be impossible to have a map of the solar system in a book to scale. On a map of the solar system to sacale with the earth the size of a pea, Jupiter would be over 300 metres away and Pluto would be two and a half kilometres and about the size of bacterium, so you wouldnt be able to see it anyway. On the same scale, Proxima Centauri, our nearest star, would be 16,000 kilometres away, that would be a very big page for any book Now Puto might be the last object marked on the map in our solar system, but the system doesnt end there. In fact its not even close to ending there. Contrary to what those books imply by their maps of the solar system imply, Pluto is barely one fifty thousanth of the way to the Oort cloud which marks the edge of our solar system. These distances are indeed unimaginal, but they are minscule when it comes to the distances involved when we consider othe systems and stars. We may not be alone in this universe, but due to the vastness of space and the distances concerned, we might as well be.
Oh! Maybe Now i see what has happened here. I will try and use British English and grammar instead of american english and grammar in the future.
I wrote "First off, we define ourselves as intelligent Also, I assume we are not alone in this universe and space aliens actually walk, or whatever, among us."
By whatever, I meant maybe instead of walk maybe they are camouflaged and speed around us while levitated or something like that.... in any case i use cs to mostly try and and humor myself ....

I still think they would lable us as clinically insane.
As long as we have religions - which stunts our thinking, well, - not very. When you really think - BELIEF is easier than thinking, you accept dogma with out critical analysis, thus brain cells not enriched with o2 from lazy consciousness. So we are probably the only planet with religions, therefore we are too warlike therefore not that smart. As for UFOs, the only authentic ongling UFO case with actual documented pre-photoshopped 1200+ photos (1958-1981) + video/spounds/witnesses/88 books. is the Billy Meier case see www.theyflycom for proof. And do not believe, think it over, for yourself.

But how do we know what may be beyond our Universe? We know about the black holes and such but we've only been able to go so far as yet and so what lies beyond that? We don't know do we? We know about the shooting stars, which are beautiful if we get the chance to see them. Meteors that may have burned out many years ago before we see them. Yes, I understand that they call them "Light Years" a great Rolling Stones Song but how can we say that their isn't life out there, whether within our Universe or out of our Universe? We mere Earthlings aren't intelligent to know at this moment in time. I found this very interesting. We thought/assumed that the dinosaurs were wiped out re an asteroid and the gas that came off it but this finding I believe is awesome This could be "false" however
