Didi7: World peace seem to be forever illusive, but peace of mind can be achieved more readily. The former is dependent on ‘others’, whilst the latter is largely dependent on oneself.

Should it be a case of having to choose one over the other, which would you choose and why?

If there was world peace then peace of mind would be more easily attainable.
So I'll go world peace as I'm all about the people and less for myself grin

At first I thought this would be tough to answer/ decide, but it’s not, actually. The world will never be at peace. It never has and never will. We deal in realities, not dreams, beautiful and sensible as they may be. And, if we can’t be comfortable with ourselves, have “peace of mind” as you state, then what good would we be in either world? Right?professor

Rohaan.
For me it's kinda like this: the better I have it myself,
the more chance there is I can contribute anything to the world.

However,

Thanks Ro, I was first introduced to the Tao by Wayne Dyyer who is sadly no longer with us. Wise words indeed from Lao-Tze, The way of the Tao is essential reading for all.

I just feel sorry for the youngsters of today. Things have moved dramatically within the last 10 years. I'm very lucky to live in a rural area with no crime. I would definitely have a gun for protection otherwise ......Kudos to America where they can protect their homes thumbs up There will never be "World Peace" now, well not in my lifetime. It doesn't matter to me personally but I do think about my grandkids and what they have to grow up with now in these times.crying
