A lot changes with increasing age.
Used to be very stubborn in youth, now we make compromises in old age.

Their children and grandchildren, their health.
The health of those they love.
Trying to enjoy each day they are given.
Up early and work away and keep themselves going.
Being out of the rat race means they have just turned to their hobbies and family and are quite content to live their lives with them.
Certainly not wasting time on the Internet.

Now and then I think that men in appropriate age look old. Moth-eaten kinda. Wheeze and bald spot and beer-belly.
But then I remember that I’m also old and cheerfully continue to jump in the poodles. On my own :)

I recently turned 64, so of course this thread jumped at me. From my conversations, and friendships with many people older than me, here are the concerns as my spectrum focuses in on:
1. HOUSING!!!!! Way too high for retirees, and way too few subsidies available. Only 20% of people have something else besides Social Security, by the way. Rents in Oregon go up 10% every year. COLA is usually around 3%. Do the math…
2. Medical Services. Many physicians don’t want to handle older clientele. They’re now cherry-picking who they’ll see. The elders are getting kicked to the curb. Pharmaceuticals are hitting the ceiling, and crashing through, in cost. The elderly are forced to make decisions- huge- like whether to eat quality, or to even have a car. It’s outrageous.
I can’t go on….trying to find the good things in life….

How irritating it is when young people mump around wasting their youth and energy, and middle-aged people start saying they are old. And how much there is left to explore and learn and enjoy while now the clock is ticking and who knows when it will strike.

And sometimes I think that the life is short. Mine totally is. Days and weeks are flying by with an incredible speed...So , what do old people generally think about ?
