By many accounts, I believe they had a very good marriage until he died from cancer.... even though she was ~ 25 years younger than bogart. "Yet Bacall had no regrets about her decision. She once told The Guardian, "If I'd had just my career, I would have missed out on Bogie, on children, on the very substance of life." And, as she said in another interview, "hank God I did put our marriage first, because it didn't last too long."
Bogart died 11 years into their marriage
Bogart was diagnosed with cancer of the esophagus in 1956. He went through surgery, but remained very ill, with Bacall taking care of him. On January 14, 1957, he died and Bacall became a widow at 32. "Bogie's death was devastating, but I had to focus on my two young children. So I had something kind of constructive to think of," she told People in 1981."

The couple wed in 1945, had two children and remained together until his death from cancer in 1957. Of Bogart's four marriages, it is said that the only one to bring him any happiness was the one to Bacall, whom he called "Baby" both in private and in public. Founding members of Las Vegas' famous Rat Pack in 1955, Bogey and Bacall's most memorable films include The Big Sleep, Dark Passage, and Key Largo. They had 2 children, 1 son named Stephen & 1 daughter named Leslie named after Leslie Howard, the actor who gave Bogie his big breakout role in The Petrified Forest. Bogie died from cancer on January 1957 at the age of 57 & Lauren died from a stroke on August 2014 at the age of 89. They will always be remembered by fans for their on & off screen romantic chemistry together in the golden age of Hollywood.
