I feel there has been much more of this over the last 10 years than ever before in history.
You see there was this New Yorker who out of the blue became president... For me it all started when Nancy P said so even I heard it "he will not be president... you can take that to the bank!". Does that qualify?
jac_the_gripper: Are you talking about the stove, or your farts, Track?
Speaking of farts, I've just watched Top Gear and it seems that Tesla's latest car, Model M3 is packed with all kinds of technical kit. Not least of all a function that allows the driver to emit various fart sounds from any of the passenger seats. Just think of the hours of fun that could be had by all the family. Never get bored on a long journey in that car?
Grandsiozzie: You'd like to get a discussion going on what exactly? Where is it, who is guilty of it. Must be millions around the globe.
Usually I'm the last to know if there is a specific happening someone saw on twitter or fb or whatever, and now they wanna talk about t.
So who gaslighted who this time?
-
Or you wanna discuss if it exist or is more or less true.. or relevant or... like... whatsapp roh?
who knows Grand...
The word was thrown out there for discussion and us more moderate minded middle of the road people will read/answer it very differently from the people who're completely OTT about everything....
blathin: Again, you're resorting to the extreme/ edge cases . The accusation of gas lighting is being thrown around willy nilly to describe things that are mostly just down to stupidity, lack of thought or somethin else equally innocuous...
I wouldn't consider domestic violence 'extreme/edge cases', but I agree the term is thrown around willy nilly to describe other things.
Perhaps that's why there is value in parsing and dissecting the subject.

What will happen to the millions of unemployed dogs if we can blame the car?

Bill Burr was right when he said it went from 'due process' to nowadays frontier justice.

you don/t' consider domestic violence to be extreme?
Seems we have very different ideas on what constitutes extreme then, because I can assure you I, and most people I know, would certainly consider domestic violence to be extreme... in all contexts...

That's not what I wrote.
I said, I don't consider domestic violence to be 'extreme/edge cases', where I was quoting your descriptive phrase in inverted commas.
I don't think of gaslighting within domestic violence as 'extreme/edge cases' because of it's common occurence.
