Rents and real estate are very expensive in Luxembourg. Liquor and cigarettes are least expensive there.
Energy is expensive everywhere, with electricity more affordable in France. Gasoline is less expensive in Luxembourg. Overall living expenses (rents vs wages) are less expensive in Germany. Buying a house is still affordable in the Belgian or French Ardennes. Be prepared to speak French !
Half of the population in Luxembourg are foreign (mostly from neighboring countries). You will get along most easily with English in Luxembourg.

Normal cooking oil price has jumped from 1 euro to 4 euros in Germany. Other things like chicken meat has been also raised up.

Ever since the price of ordinary cooking oil skyrocketed, I use olive oil instead.
Olive oil used to be about 5 times more expensive than cooking oil. Now it sells at a more modest premium to sunflower oil.

In Hongaria...life is still cheap & safe enough.
Renting or bying a appartment or house is cheap compaired to the rest of Europe.
So are gasoline, siggy's, alcohol and energy.
And they are the only European country....that loves its own citizens firts.
A extra plus is....they are allergic for fugetives there.

Hello,

Why don't try the Netherlands? head banger Besides why do you want to come to Western Europe? Because its a paradise for immigrants and poor people?? Richness all around and happy people, sustained by a great social welfare system. A paradise !??
Let me state Europe is facing a breakpoint in history today, increasing taxes and an expensive way of life, the economy is in a stressful situation due to the wars in Ukraine and Gaza.
Immigration from Africa and Asia is increasing and causes problems. The "no money, no cure" principle as in USA is coming nearer. The part of real poor people is increasing, extreme nationalist parties are booming, The Nazi ideology resurrects. Society turns acid and racism increases. Media warns for a possible start of a WWIII . Those who became wealthy after WWII are living a good life and deny all these events. Till...?
My advice, professor If you have money you are welcome as long as it gets, if not you better stay at home.
The best counties to immigrate?? Norway, Sweden, Ireland even Germany and Luxemburg. But Luxembourg is not a simple country to move on unless....you got money!! Compare it with the other tax free mini states in Europe e.g. Lichtenstein, San Marino, Andorra and...Monaco!!
