Supreme Court Rules on Private Religious School Funding (13)

It is a happy day when the Supreme Court expands the ability of taxpayers to fund additional students and their parents in the area of education. The Court yesterday ruled that the state of Maine cannot discriminate funding private religious schools if they are funding private schools with public money. This is now seen as an expansion of federal government control over religious teaching and doctrine dictated by the state. What scholars fear most is the next step: taxing religious institutions who accept public money for educating students in a private setting. the separation of church and state has come to an end. Long live the federal arm of education into the lives of all teaching and taxing of religion; be they Christian, Jewish; Muslim, Buddhist; or Atheist. We can't wait for the windfall of tax money to come from church congregations across the country.

Don’t you know the government gives the Catholic bishops millions a year to take care of illegal immigrants, then. When the Catholic Church pays out on abuse victims it goes to lawyers and other Democrat groups like lgbt and the bishops stay protected

The Catholic bishops are part of pedo Joes backers you think they are worried about tax professor

Unless you have a fact or two to back up your supposed story - no need to post B.S. in the Forum.
I don't see the relevance to the original Supreme Court ruling - but then, you don't seem to work in the real world that follows logic and sensibility. Good luck in your fantasy!

there is no separation of church and state. only a separation of powers. no idea where people get that b.s. statement from. but what do you expect from some one criticizing people for "b.s."

those that spread it can't allow other truths into the equations. so any truths have to be labeled b.s..

there was a time when taxes were paid to the church. maybe it's time to go back to that. at least most of those school are interested in actual education. they fall in line with the same concept as "private" schools in that area. the states don't have authority to dictate what's taught. their academics performance through regular testing often far exceed the majority of "public" schools. that's what more parents want. away from the indoctrination and failures of the "public" systems.

President wants facts

Does the Catholic Church get money from the US government?
Here's a maddening pandemic fact: Catholic dioceses in the U.S. and other institutions backed by the Roman Catholic Church took more than $3 billion in taxpayer-funded government aid as part of the Paycheck Protection Program, according to an investigation by the Associated Press.

How much money does Catholic Charities get from the US government?
Catholic Charities uses about 89% of its revenue for program costs. Catholic Charities is listed as an Accredited Charity by the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance. In 2010, Catholic Charities had revenues of $4.7 billion, $2.9 billion of which came from the US government.

President dummy knows about as much about religious financials as he does about the monthly inflation rate!

That's some amazing reveal. I'm not sure who is defending the Catholic Church - but, good going on that find - even if it comes up a bit short on source material. I am still waiting for you to defend the hunting of sitting Congressmen. We are all patiently waiting - even though we know you won't respond.

I guess you'll have to focus on your hero of the story - as Covid money went to most of the Trump cronies and supported his own businesses.

I have worked with special needs people like yourself, the problem is you don’t have general knowledge yet you pretend to be informed. You are not stupid just lazy and unable to search for general knowledge on your own. Maybe you began smoking dope in 7th grade that is when you stopped learning. Your name should be president-IQ25 rolling on the floor laughing

Personal attacks are so third - grade. I am not surprised - defending your comments takes a massive amount of third grade thought. Resorting to personal attacks and avoiding the real question is a great tactic - for a fake people like you. I can't wait to hear your next brilliant argument - maybe defending the likes of Matt Gaetz and his underage s*xual adventures; or what about Lauren Boebert and her multiple abortions and life as a hooker. You gotta love the 'family values' that the GOP stands for. Please defend your political party - please I can't wait to hear all about the great things the GQP is doing for me!

Kennedy v Bremerton School District

Another decision by the activist supreme court that allows individuals to exercise their religious rights in public schools. I cannot wait for the Muslims, Buddhists, Hindu, Jews and Shinto to also take time during the school day to exercise their free exercise rights and demonstrate 'prayer' in schools all over the country.
The Founders had a reason when they separated church and state. The government cannot select a government religion and allow one faith to dominate. All faiths now have access to the public school arena to practice their faith. More chaos from an activist and revisionist court.

This Supreme Court ruling is a win for Colin Kaepernick and the Black Lives Matter folks who take a knee before every sports game while the National Anthem is playing. I know everyone is happy for Mr Kaepernick that he has created a fair playing field for all athletes and coaches to express their silent prayers without infringement.

When will the Supreme Court over-rule marriage as a 'right' because it is not listed in the constitution? This activist court has decided that 'originalist' thought prevails when interpreting the constitution. What a novel idea....we should follow the beliefs of 55 white slaveholders who believed that only white men of 30 age and older; property owners; slave-holders and business owners, should decide the laws of the 21st century.
This is an unhinged and dangerous Supreme Court.
