Because if I get myself into something that I later wish I hadn't, it makes it more difficult to get out of. And, believe it or not, out of a concern that anyone who gets involved with me will end up wishing they hadn't. I just sort of hang about on the edge, but never step in. It confuses people and leaves me feeling bad. If complete honesty isn't what you were expecting, I hope there wasn't too much of it. 
If I weren't so screwed up, I recon I wouldn't be a bad catch, depending on your standards.

Marmalade55: To be honest, it is all a world outside of my experience, I was married at 20 and remained so up until about 6 or 7 years ago, since when I haven't been involved with anyone. What I said earlier was accurate as far as my feelings and senses are concerned, but there is no basis of experience there. If I ever did try to get involved with the "dating" thing, I would be quite clueless. As soon as the potential for doing the wrong thing came up, I would do it; I'm sure I would.
