Whenever I drive, after 20 kms I start falling asleep. When I try to sleep by stopping the car, the sleep disappears and when I try to start the car and proceed, it starts falling asleep again. This is a very strange and dangerous situation.
I have found solution to this problem. Whenever I drive after eating cooked food, I feel sleepy, but if I do not eat cooked food, stay empty stomach or eat raw food (fruits) then I do not sleep. I came to know from naturopathy doctor in youtube that eating cooked food makes lethargic but eating raw food (fruits) does not make anyone lethargic. Now whenever I have to drive more than 20 or 30 kms, I do not eat cooked food.
Have you sleep apnea....or are you getting a decent sleep at night.... Do you drive in connection with your work.... Sounds like a health and safety issue if work related... Might be an idea to have a medical and see what it shows up

Do you have a leaky exhaust pipe leaking fumes into the car?
Because the buses have advertisements all over the outside of the bus and even on the windows, it is hard to see anything out the windows, so I close my eyes to meditate and the darn driver says "No sleeping on the bus!!!" Why is the driver looking to see whose eyes are closed instead of keeping his eyes on the road, I will never know.
Don't have this problem on the train. Can't wait till it come to my way in a few years.
Bid64: Pull in some place if you can and have a 30 min nap
I have tried this. Sleep disappears when car stops and sleepy again as soon as the car starts moving. I think it's Motion-Sleepiness. This happens in long Journey only.

Eat some candied or pickled ginger slices to cure motion sickness and sour stomach.

No, I don't have sleep apnea. But maybe it is Motion-Sleepiness. Motion makes me sleepy. Only in long journey.
