I once had a leader over me who suddenly threw me in the seat of leadig a nightshift and I asked him "but can I do it?" and he was like "you can!". So... I sat down confidently knowing I had his full support and it went ok!
If I have a dream job in mind, I'd probably be more than just interested and actually know as mush as possible about it. I'd read anything available and look for ways to achieve my goal. It is a dream job after all, not just any job.
Friskyone: If you were offered your dream job and you had no training, would you accept the job knowing you may fail?
My dream job is not to have a job, anything that's going to pay me to do what I'd do in my spare time. But you know I think I'd stay working on the gas, there's definitely a future in it.

Well, I have not worked for a living since I said good bye in September 2007 to my full-time dream job working in environmental science that I had very little direct training. I didn't worry about failing; just worried about resource funding. Since then, I was pre-occupied with my 2nd dream job staying out of trouble traveling until covid whatever. Maybe I'll resume doing that.
rohaan: My dream job would be to have a rescue ranch for poultry, goats, cats....that "speaks" to me.
Good choice. I wanna buy land. Lay water tubings and el cable to a central connection point. Then place up to ten micro houses in a cricle around it. Probably going in plus after the 4th unit,

I would accept the job no problem..There isn't a company that will allow you to take the reigns without them training you anyway..Ask a lot of questions..Observe & you won't fail
The question is, why would one have a dream job at heart and not do anything about it?! Why wait and not be prepared for it? So many people hate their jobs yet do nothing to change that.

I did accept a job I knew nothing about when I accepted the offer to be a legal secretary. It turned out to be more work then I ever imagined but also very rewarding at the end of the day. A job that lasted many, many years.
