Yes well I think it's the equality for women that changed that. If talking to a woman I always qualify the statement I'd like to feel normal with the question whatever normal is? But I think women are normal whatever normal is. I believe that it's a compensatory entrancement with her own uniqueness because whatever the forces of convention are right now she will embody those forces. There's much less difference between one woman and the next compared to the world of men, they are all more normal whatever normal is.Did you know this?

And also an aging population explains the tremendous power of convention. The population has congealed into kind of a grey ball and the truly random thing - the kids, are in short supply. The no normal is the new normal where the same generation lasts for a thousand years like an embalmed corpse, we live in a mummified state of live slow, die old - but it will claim to be the exact opposite of what it is. The narcissism wouldn't accept what it really is.

And all this is an insult to those who expend enormous amounts of energy just to appear normal. All these normal people expending so much energy trying to appear different. It's not comfortable to actually be different and it's not easy to avoid going along with the madness that screams "now". It's easier to forget what happened yesterday and not think about tomorrow, it's easier to be conditioned by everything you're expected to be right now.

And that's really the point. If you can remember what really happened then whatever they say now can't be worth that much. Like depression being caused by low serotonin. Or lead in pipes or asbestos. You can't take the moment now at face value and this makes him an enemy of the state. To remember what really happened is a natural sceptic, it's open minded because you know it's not final, you know it's not final, tomorrow could contradict today just as today contradicts what they did yesterday.

I know of a few mediums who were 'medicated' when younger because they 'heard voices' (other people couldn't hear), 'saw things' (other people couldn't see) and sometimes could 'smell things' (other people couldn't smell). These facts brought to you by the Real World.
It turns out they simply had extra sensory perceptions other people around them didn't possess and it freaked out their parents and local medical teams ...
Now they no longer take medication and work as mediums passing on messages from spirit to the living

In the old days they used to think that a schizophrenic was just a bit of a character and that's changed now. For the better I would argue. But it isn't always this right. And I wouldn't judge the 1970s by the standards of today because that would make every man over 50 a nonce.
