jac_the_gripper: How did they know they didn't like him without seeing him on TV in their front room(s)?
Seeing someone on tv is not really what letting someone into your life means. Letting them into your life is like you'd leave your kids alone with them.
jac_the_gripper: We all let Jimmy Savile into our homes and our lives.
Hi Jac.. Are you speaking for Wales the Nation or the Commonwealth when you say "We"? I don't think "We" were all privvy to the alegations agains't Sir Jimmy though, well up until they could no longer repress them..

Anyway I'm glad you get two thumbs up because it proves how Jimmy got away with it for so long. Seeing someone in the media is completely different to giving up your trust to them and letting them into your life, something this obvious should be clear even to you.
At the end of day jimmy was stopped by a new generation coming through with no skin of the game. Same as the Catholic church. The truth came out once the excuses for the fact you ever liked them melted away. Although there'll be different blind spots now based on what's popular today.

If I was to have a guess at what's popular today but in future will be seen as scandalous then it's TikTok.
Or the Muslim grooming gangs. Nothing was said about them until Islam became more unpopular on the right than it is fashionable for leftists. The truth is that there isn't any justice in this world there is only the power to enforce your will, and this makes it important for power to change hands on the regular.

Knew this would have got a mention from you Ches..
I remember almost everyone (including myself) singing his praises for what seemed to be the unparalleled charity work he did, not least of all his weekly full days work at Leeds Gereral Hospital. He had most of us completely fooled and I suspect that goes for Charles also when those pics were taken....unless of course dino you know otherwise.

Selenite: I didn't. I couldn't stand him. He gave me the creeps
He gave me the creeps, too, as did Gary Glitter. I think I was the only one of my peers who didn't go and see Gary Glitter when he was doing another of his university tours.
Savile and Glitter were both a big part of British culture. It may have been uncomfortable to see either of them, but they were there all the same, constantly intruding. Such is the nature of the nonce.
