jagtom: The 5th Nov is Guy Fawkes night, I wonder if any of our American cousins know the story of this.
Or indeed any English people know the real story??
Simply put every 5 November in Britain on Guy Fawkes Day, we remember the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, when Guy Fawkes and fellow Catholic conspirators attempted to blow up Parliament and assassinate James I of England.

I watched "Gunpowder" on Netflix yonks ago. I really enjoyed watching it. Pity we don't have another one to eradicate all our corrupt Government and succeed this time
Americans don't celebrate Guy Fawkes night "5th November"just like us Brits don't celebrate "Thanksgiving" like Americans do. Bonfire Night is a very old Tradition in the Uk.

On Thanksgiving, I like to set fire to a turkey and lob it into my American neighbours garden as a cultural peace offering
