The owners of a hotel in Skegness have revealed they turned down £500,000 from the government to house migrants.
Gary and Dee Allen, who own the Hatters Hotel in the seaside resort, told GB News that they refused the offer from the government to completely close down so that migrants could stay in the rooms.
But the couple said their "morals and beliefs" stopped them from accepting the offer of £132,000 every 13 weeks to stay closed.
Mr Allen said: "When we bought this hotel there wasn't any migrants or illegal immigrants in this town – within a year the whole scene has changed.
"Bringing so many migrants into this town would put tourists off, it would be known as a refugee town."

What a load of tosh
They bought the hotel 18 months ago and Skegness has had migrants in it's town for ages ,many of them working in Butlins and Boston 45 minutes away is chock a block with migrants from the eastern bloc.Lincolnshire is the heart of agriculture and hundreds of migrants work on these farms. Skegness attracts people from Leicester, Nottingham and Bradford etc so the town is always full of people from other cultures.
The market at Fantasy Island , one of the biggest around,is absolutely full of stalls mostly run by foreigners.

I believe them, they live there, why should they lie?
You deem to make a point of discrediting people. Do you think people might have noticed to are a bit obsessed with picking on my posts?

Go there and find out for yourself then instead of copy and pasting what you deem to be factual. I pick on anyone's posts who haven't bothered to fact check first .....so get over yourself.
It's a fact that they bought the Hotel recently and there are other Hotels in the area who have taken in refugees which I guess for them is better than having to close due to no customers for almost 2 years due to covid.
Bournemouth also has Hotels full of migrants and has done so for years via Brittania Hotels owner so nothing new and I guess Bournemouth is a far cry from Skegness to be honest.
You should take a walk around the East Coast if you want to find out the truth instead of stirring the pot.
jagtom: Oh is she an immigrant then, her profile picture looks very white, not quite sure how I became a right-wing propagandist. but you are no better than you ought to be curly
As usual you lose the argument and come back with insults. Just about sums you up. Uneducated and uncouth.
