Any game you play on your feet will usually tell you when you are out of bounds. For instance, if you hit a hockey puck with your stick and you are not on the ice at the same time you are probably out of bounds.

If we become emotionally mature, we set our own boundaries and are comfortable with our decisions.
Of course we ought to consider external information when deciding on our frontiers - setting our own boundaries doesn't give us the right to be a serial killer, nor call others names like 'sheep' if they make different decisions.
Individuality and creativity are fantastic, but social skills and going along with the crowd can be valuable skills, too.

Thank you for that explanation.It is an excellent example of how to use willpower to not let your urge overcome you.
I have boundaries for serious things....not to spend too much money; never cheat on my partner, never to insult people with salacious names.
I also have a boundary not to eat food made with ample amounts of sugar for health reasons.
However, I usually fail and do the opposite and have a couple donuts, or cookies or what I love the most is ice cream .

Some combination of the powers that be and the average man. The patrician and pleb wrestle over exactly what usual is.
