Never has to be the answer to that. Many of my friends are married now and it feels like the lights going out, the sparkle in their eye banished to the ether, and the divorced? My god. if spending lots of time with a person, you may know all you need to know. any more requires much more intimate conversation, time, and interactions.
then there is that middle word- TIME. people do change over time. will you grow with the people around as they change as well? or will things drift apart?
i don't see any way to truly know a person's heart and mind. it's more than possible to truly know all you need from actions, conversations, and more.
