On what basis do you discern, what a political leader may say ,as being factual or fictional?

1/what the media reports say?

2/your trust in that particular politician?

3/your instincts?

4/other?dunno

3/ My instincts

4/ their voting record on issues relating directly to the topic, and
any records of debates or discussions that could clarify their
true position on issue. Including why they chose to support certain bills or reject them.

if i'm picking who i'm voting for, i then take apart their voting record as opposed to what they SAID they would do...and go from there.
