Yes & No. If you use normal caution, I can't see as to why it would be unsafe. Obviously don't give out any personal details straight away, address, landline number, etc. The only advice that I can really give to you, is that of which you'll of heard time, and time again, if you are going to meet someone, let your friends / relatives know where you are, who you're meeting, and what time you intend to be back. As for the ideal meeting time / place, daylight, and in a busy public area, like a cafe, etc.
Also, for added peace of mind / security, take a mobile phone with you, as well as maybe some loose change for the phone box, incase your network's down, etc. basically, a little common sense, can go a long way q=o)
totally agree and make sure you get to know them as well as you can online i met my ex wife on the internet was talking to her for three months before we even exchanged photos and another month after that before we met.Internet dating is just common sense really and can be fun just be very very careful.
I'm sorry for flooding your thread with lots of posts, but as I've submitted one reply, another thought comes! Just thought that I should point this out, although there are some unsavoury charachters on c/s, there's also a lot of genuine people here as well, who'll be asking themselves the same question, as to whether it's safe to meet someone or not. I guess deep down, you wouldn't have joined c/s in the first place if you didn't intend on meeting someone? Anyway, whatever you decide to do, good luck, and take care! q=o)
And if you wanted to go the extra 500 yards, purchase one of those small 'panic' alarms, which is easily concealable, by now, youshould be feeling secure as... q=o)
