Actually I usually catch the soccer games on TV if they are showing.I don't know any team names.

Soccer is in fact a British word used to differentiate rugby football and association football. Still used in some schools in the city of Rugby.

Here in NZ we have Rugby, Rugby League, and then soccer. We refer to all three in general terms as football.
As the Rugby Ball was always referred to as a football & a Soccerball was a soccerball. But due to the English calling Soccer, Football the terms and reasons have just been smudged together.
So when entering a conversation about football here ensure you have done some listening first or you may get laughed out of the building.
Otherwise "Go Man Utd". And the triple is within our grasp.

The game is played in many schools around the world. It is also played professionaly by numerous nations around the world at club and international level.. As to the game. It was first played in the English public school in the town of Rugby, which is where the game was first discovered.

I was surprised to see that girls at hi-school were playing soccer in the USA, when i first went and got used to it it was totally opposite the world that girls play more than boys there in the States. But my all time fav. soccer team is GALATASARAY

Football, big thing in Panama!
After all, we played the US soccer team for the Golden Cup last year, and we had to go to penalties... so as far as I am concerned Panama is as much as Champion as the US.
Love Michael Ballack, sorry to see Zidane go, finally they got rid of Beckham, Ronaldinho rocks!, Ronaldo is too fat. Cristiano Ronaldo is wow!, the technical stuff I ask my son.
