What you are missing is an ideal. It’s just like being hungry you need and you miss what you don’t have. 
Well if you have spoken to a person by telephone or e-mailed then of course it's possible.... to miss that contact, and I suppose, the idea you may have of the person based on the contact.

Ah, AwesomeChoice, you appreciated that morsel of sagelike wisdom huh? It`s so true too! Somehow our heads get these romantic ideas and then the Real thing is like being stabbed with a darning needle?
I only say this, cause I have experienced it, a few times. Now I have taken up Very Serious Gardening, at least I know what Real Weeds look like.

...your one- liner was so!! per-fekt!!...and reflected my thoughts on the subject to the tee
The fine romantic in me is (luckily for me:) grounded with practicality and sprinkled with portion of scepticism...Seeing is believing.....pursue knowledge merely for the sake of learning is not enough; using what you'd learnt is very helpful...I favor the combination of romantic outlook and emotional nature with hardheaded realism. Wearing rose-colored glasses is lovely!!!...but just for a "little" while...if you're not addicted to troubles:)
Don't you wish sometimes (all the times:) to ask straight a guy who you just met,"Now,honey, can you tell me, please, what's wrong with you?".....I actually practiced this line several times....it's a great ice-breaker!...Guys, of course, allowed :) to use same approach...if they dare:)
Oh, love gardening too....on occassions:) when I'm in a mood ...as for now.. methodically weed out flowers in my mailbox:)
