Can we stop global warming (8)

my answer is no. were told we have to cut down on our CO2 EMISSIONS to holt global warming. the truth is mother earth is the biggest producer of the green house gasses. a million times more than we do. such as the sea, rotting vegitasion, volcanos erupting.the earth is going through a cycal that no one can change. it's too big for us mere mortals to stop.whats your thoughts. tom

personally i think the effect it has on the earth is hard to reverse but we can slow it down. Blame the government for the global warning they knew about it before we did and they chose to ignore it, it took a back seat to them and now the pressures on, on them. My personal opinion is that when they decided to take our landscapes and build these 'rabbit hutches' that cost our hard working civilians ridiculas prices, where did our beautiful greenery go? our trees? our oxygen providers?
I live in the country and about 1 mile from me are stacks of ugly estates of newly built houses, we have lost our wild life. remember more houses means more pollution!

In my years of studying politics i was astounded by the way our prime minister has let our country go to pot.

in a nutshell,no, cutting emissions will help,but will take centuries for earth to correct it.

I went to pot with them - I gave up the environmental thing in about 1993 when I realised it was too late.

I could really go on about this, you got me now I realise where came the cynical slant to my older gaze. Recycling a bit of paper or plastic will not counteract your central heating, kettle...car.

We will have to adjust to it, but really if anyone says they care and drive a car they are not fooling me. Emissions are growing not falling. The powers that be are investing in fission as compensation it is a source of energy that needs little fuel - look there for the reality, the powers that be know we are in big trouble.

To really get the picture compare the way people lived before the industrial revolution to the way we have become. Heat was cut from trees by yourself and used to cook, keep you warm, healthy. It was a luxury 300 years ago, today as a necessity to 60 million Brits it cannot last, and we are being naive to our coming generations.

Tom - the earth has a geological timescale of around 40 million years, In the last 300 years we the mere mortals who live here have managed to begin to out balance the essetial environment for life. CO2 is part of the equation for life its a necessity, but its growing too fast in our atmosphere.

Be wise we are the guiltiest generation because we are the first to know what we are doing.

It will be like moving a mountain to get world governments to change - but then mother nature will probably do it for us...lets just hope the tornadoes, tsunamis don't hit our coasts. - just yet.

global warming has nothing to do with us and our polution.global warming happens every so many of thousands of yers its a natural thing.the goverment make it a big thing so that they can tax fual.and put the cost of motoring up. we play just a small part.

I think you'll find that the seas and oceans actually remove co2 from the atmosphere.
