reading what peeps are looking for it surprises me to read that a lot of guys are looking for marriage and it got me wondering??

Do you ever think that you will get to know someone on a date site well enough to marry them and how long is long enough before you take that big step with someone having met them on a site especailly if there is distance and no real physical contact?

Are the guys being realistic in what their expectations are? I am just curious ...........................help me out guys? And do women state this on their profiles?

Ok Now THE DISCUSSION IS OPEN...............lol :-)

By the way good morning everyone!!

Did your pro state marriage as that is the point i am trying to get at? Is that what you want and is tht what you stated? This thread is i guess about the profiles that state Marriage!

Hey there MerryBerry

I have selected "marriage" but before submitting my profile, I changed it to "long-term". I guess the reason for this is because I don't want to seem to hurried. At the end of the day, who wouldn't want to get married?

Hi there........that is a good reason for putting this thread up Crazyice as i too felt that when you read a pro from someone who says "Marriage" it just to me says whoooooaaaa lol and scares the heck out of me .........not because i dont want to eventually but he would need to be special and know that it would happen naturally if it was meant to without putting up that expectation.

I dont have any expectations from anyone so i just put up friendship and then see where it goes ...............

Nice to meet you by the way....Magsy x

Mmmmmm..... I don't know, I doubt it but then if I found the right person and that's what we both wanted, yes, I guess - never say never! Having said that, I think you'll find, love, that there will probably be a lot of people who don't wish to marry???

ok i get ya lol but does that mean that people are being unrealistic with thier statement of "marriage" in their profiles then if divorce is so common? It is hard enough meeting someone physically and getting to know them over a period of time never mind over the net. lol And yes why should a couple not feel comfortable with getting married if they have met on the net and then decide.............what i am saying is that i feel to put this in a profile may scare or make someone have second thoughts immediatly about contacting someone that they thought may be a match ............That goes for men and women!! :-)

I mean who has been contacted by a person read the profile and then thought better actually contacting them due to the profile saying marriage?

I know one guy wrote to me privately and did say what he felt on the subject which i wont go into but he did point out that it can also be seen as a positive thing in that reading marriage on a pro can mean that this person is ready to make a comittment to the right person and i thought that was a great way to look at it...........so i am not saying it should not be mentioned i just wondered why it was put there and so far only one guy actually realise what i was asking and had replied privately so that tells me maybes some of you guys are too shy to say............................................anyway ............ cheers

No, but that's not to say I wouldn't get married again if the right woman comes along!!dunno

I most definitely would.......friends first, you know.........if we start to "click",and things progress....sure!!applause

I wouldn't say I won't get married again....in fact, friends,dating.....to me,is a means to that end!dunno

I've always loved the whole concept of marriagepeace as long it's with the right person!!dunno There in lies the key!!sigh wine wave

....Finding that "infamous",soulmate!! Some say they exist, some say they don't?? dunno
