Mr asswipe Blair and bigger asswipe Brown you sell us the fxxking cigarettes at a fiver a packet legally, so therefore it is our right to smoke freely where we like, if you want the population to stop smoking then ban the fxxking sale of cigarettes, but that will never happen will it?

No, they won't, not for the foreseeable future, if ever. Way too much revenue in the sale of cigarettes and tobacco. Its the same with the "green issues" re. motoring, isn't it? The Govt say they are trying to encourage the public not only to get "greener" cars but to give up cars and use public transport "for the good of the environment". Yeah right......!! So why then isn't public transport much improved? Because the Govt are not really interested in the environment at all, its all a smoke-screen. Way too much revenue to be had via fuel, they only want to APPEAR to be concerned about the environment!!

ok whether the government care or not, i dont give a crap! the fact is, people wont be subjected to passive smoking (which causes cancer and loads of other diseases). so if the government banned smoking in public places out of the goodness of their hearts or whether they did it especially just to piss you off, i dont care. stop being so selfish! smoke yourself to death for all i care, just dont force your carcinogenic smoke on other men, women, and children in society!

We'll have to agree to disagree on that, Stu. I do firmly believe we have been trashing this planet for far too long and I do believe it will have its consequences.

Just as well we are investigating other planets, 'cos we'll need somewhere else to live!! sigh

But that's the whole point, isn't it? Consideration!! Its one thing to smoke or not, but smokers really do need to take account of non-smokers. There is nothing wrong with smoking in the open air, I feel, but not in confined spaces. Mind you, we are all breathing in crap all the time anyway, aren't we? After all, non-smokers drive cars, take flights on holiday/business and want/need all those products that are manufactured in factories, don't they?
We all contribute in our own selfish ways,do we not?

no i don't mean to have a pop at you, i am just disagreeing with you and debating with you.

wouldn't the world be a dead boring place if we all agreed (ya selfish smoker) eh? lol

lighten up, nothing personal. afterall, as i said in the other smoking thread, i smoked 20 a day for 8 years so i like to think i can see things from both sides of the coin, but my preference is to have consideration for other people and i think the ban is a good thing!

I wouldnt smoke around children, but i have saw many who have.

i reckon if they stopped selling them it would be pointless. people would still buy cigs on the black market so to speak. and then they wouldnt be regulated so would be even more harmful then they are now
