I've had an odd situation happen. I've been approached on another site by a white supremist member. He's wants to "introduce" me to the people he hangs out with. *cue banjo music...
One of the reasons I've liked this site so much is the lack of race issues. (background info: I've been living in Atlanta, Baltimore, New Orleans, Atlanta again & now Nc) My profile on other sites has had to include short & polite mentions about not being "attracted" to black men. I seem to attract rancid comments & letters from them... both before & after adding this notation. There is no mention of hating blacks, wishing to incite any kind of race war & in fact it states clearly that I am a mixed race.
Since we have so many international members, I'd love to hear from any & all pertaining to how this type of race issue(black -vs- white) is handled in your area. I grew up in preunified Germany & saw some issues based in the black GIs but now times have changed. I'm aware of how many countries have problems with the migrant groups(non black)... and am eager to hear your perspectives.
Just a final thought: It is a very commonly heard comment in Atlanta...
"I never had any reason to despise blacks until I moved here."
...now, tell me your thoughts...
Post note~ the purpose of this is NOT to incite any form of racial hate mongering, simply to openly discuss the perscpetives all around. I ask that everyone play nice.
I am just a citizen of the earth and this earth is wonderfully populated. I feel well to be there, among and part of all these cultures I can learn by sharing communication.
Don't look so deeply for that one... just read the wording. I am not attracted to black men. It's what is commonly known as a preference. I do not find them attractive & being as how the site involved is a dating site... have no interest in dating a black man. Some people are attracted to blondes, some redheads... some do not care for pale white skin, some dislike a Fran D voice. It's the core to what makes us all indivuals... our personal tastes.
I truly find great difficulty in seeing how this - "My profile on other sites has had to include short & polite mentions about not being "attracted" to black men" - could in any way whatsoever be construed as polite
There was a similar post yesterday about how to deal with unwanted mail or attention - best done privately most agreed - or are you trying to run some kind of recruitment campaign?
This thread is not a kindergarden romp, Tommm. If you can not keep up with the subject like a mature adult, perhaps you need to go sit in the timeout corner.
can we keep this thread at an adult level or iam out o here n playing in the sand box .......its very rare i post on anything other than literside stuff but thuis got to me
nah, thanks all the same but mars is a bit far from all my friends - anywhere that the likes of you arent is quite good enough for me - Ill just stay here and listen to some good old banjo music
just as a mention as when has it been right to send someone to mars if they mention something you don't like, or have you a thing against maritians aswell
