Everybody has heard the latest talk about Global Warming.
His movie documentary is really educuational. I watched it with my oldest daughter and reccomend others do as well.

It is a real problem to you?
Governments from many nations are starting to recognize. ABout friggin time.

What are you views on Global warning?. Do you believe the Scientists?

What are you doing in your own lives to help our environment.

I do a bunch of things and i wish to see what others do as well>maybe there is more i and others can dodunno

So far;
i recycle daily (gets picked up bi weekly)
take glass to the depot monthly.
have switched all my old bulbs to the new energy saving low watt ones in my home.
have replaced my old fridge with a newer ove energy efficent one. (in BC, BC hydro will pick up you old appliance for free and give you 30 bucks. Sweet. (next is my washer and dyre but i dant do everything at once. errrrr)
replaced my old tin roof to a duro last vinyl type roof...safe energy costs as it reflects the sun.
I do not leave my car running any more. I used to do this lots, when running into the store or picking up the kids. Every little bit helps. If we all did this our environment would feel these stressed.

On my wish list is also an electric mower.
Damn its hard to replace everything from gas.
No wonder the oil companies are so rich.

An electric car would be nice too. Like their going to drop the prices any time soon. I doubt it as long money is to be made on oil.
100,000 grand plus for an electric car...give me a break, who can afford that?

WEll i dont agree with you. There's a shocker. LOL

What about rising temperatures...All across the world?

What about the increase in natural disasters, hurricanes, flooding etc?

What about the ice packs shrinking?

I could go on, but you get my point, maybe you dont. LOL

The facts are there that people and toxic emissions are killing are envrionment.

Gore documentary won many awards. I belive he was up for the Nobel Prize as well?

Garry, i am glad the rest of the world does not think like you but hey your entitled to your opionion. Peace out...Try not to fart so much. Your gases are killing our ozone.rolling on the floor laughing

Yes i do agree with Pucks! We all should do our part in conserving the world for future generations.
I don't let the car run unless it is 30 below and i am going somewhere then i warm my truck up.

I don't cut my lawn with a electric or gas powered mower but one of those old type push thingies with tumbling blades. It is good exercise and creates no stink!

I do try to recycle but that is pretty iffy out here in the country.

I am sure we all try to do our part.

But i also have to agree with TN. To use this issue to politically gain ground is low!
We should not think about our planet just because some idiot by the name of Gore wants us too.
We should do it because we want to.
And i believe that it is not just global warming that is causing everything to warm up but, now don't laugh, i think it has a lot to do with evolution.
How long have they been able to detect and measure the ozone hole? Only a few years. Who says that that hole has not been there for a long long time ?
We all know that the ice caps are melting but we also know that in parts of Greenland where there is always ice scientist have found remains of fruit trees!
So give me a break with all that save the earth stuff.
The world is changing and yes the people do their part to destroy it and that we should slow down if not alleviate if possible. But we can't stop the hands of time and the development of things that are natural.

Did Gore not do his documentary after his unsuccesful bid for President?

Last time i checked he is not running for President in 2008?

Maybe he used his world wide profile to help get the word out about Global Warming...So what? He is not in polictics anymore or is he?

Oh i missed that one..You said up there that D. Suzuki is an idiot too.

Wow.

He is coming to Vernon. I am attending a luncheon. I like to hear what intelligent, educated people have to say about topics they know something about.
You should come Garry, i hear there are still some seats available.rolling on the floor laughing

"" Most of the world disagrees with your view Garry.
But thats ok, we know your not normal. ""

That's okay, but it doesn't make the majority correct.

Only lemmings and sheep follow the crowd without questioning.

In this case I'm glad I'm not normal.

Just remember the last 'Band wagon' you jumped on, buddy...

Al Gore is a professional politician. He's not a scientist or environmentalist and doesn't even walk his talk. There are reasons he's not the president. This IS a political movement so get your heads out of your asses.
Global warming is a reality. The earth's been going through these natural cycles long before man was on the planet. Nothing we do is going to stop this from happening. To believe that we can is pretty ignorant.
There may be some truth in saying we're adding to it and possibly speeding it up but to say we're the cause is stretching it way too far.

Thinking a lot about this one and have to agree with you..we have only been tracking temperature and climate change for what a hundred years or so if that...in the big picture a mire blink in time...what was it like before the ice age...before all the other climatic changes that have been scientifically determined thousands of years ago...bet they were not the fault of folks driving SUV's....not saying we should not be cautious and consciencous but because it is right to conserve and not be wasteful of anything...not because of a fear based movement started by folks with a finacially vested interest in it.

Gore is not President, nor is he President. What he did in the past in politics is the past.
How is his documentary on bringing awareness to the world about global warming politics?
Enlighten me with examples/facts and perhaps i will then change my view on this.

Might not be the one who you directed this question to...but..I believe that the backers of this program and specking tour..vid.. the works..they have the vested interest in it..in people attending in people discussing and in people purchasing tickets and vids....find it hard to believe he is volunteering his time...thus he reaps finacial gain though these presentaions...very basic level but true

well i am sure he pockets something.

do you work for free?

He is travelling, hosting workshops and doing speeches all over the world and should get a kickback from the documentary IMO.

exactly my point..the more he gets people worked up..the bigger the crowd..the more money...he has a vested interest in scaring people and presenting the info in such a way to do just that

it is an interesting angle on it that you present.

i trust it coming from him much more than Gore...however still unsure...hard to find any truly unbias people out there dealing with this issue that are able to present the facts without a vested interest...
