LOL; very much the same as in Europe, except that in the US, many carry guns; part of the cultural imperatives there... but more in certain geographical areas than others...
I lived quite a bit with Roma people in my neighborhood in Mallorca´s old towns part.. I never felt saver - never seen friendlier, funnier and most helpful people in all .. they would drive my little girl save in their horse buggy to Playschool before setting off to drive tourists around Palma... Los Gitanos have the most wonderful heart and I love their music .. though they never sleep and at 3 am .. you can still hear them singing clapping hands, sitting outside.. I learned to turn arround, smiling and sleep again. 
And I always thought they were from another planet--- A little like the Darfoirians from Planet Darfo of the sixth planetary orbit in the constellation Biafra

They seem to be a unique group...no doubt.
The problem that they don't mind staying for long time without showering or bathing...this is unique...isn't it? And you can find this on the middle class ones as well it must be part of the culture...do you know any of their principle regarding to that?
Yes, the music can be really great, i've gone to a concert of a very well know gypsy group. Their presence it's self was really, really funny. When they entered, the reaction combined by the clap of hands was laughter!

Anyway, the rhythym was just great! Very strong, it keeps as awake cause there is always those drums that connect directly with our hearts...

Showering and bathing are not the only ways to keeps ones body clean! 
really? Yes if you had ever had to be in a place that had no shower or bath you would have discovered that you don't have to stand under a trickle of water or submerge your whole body in water to keep yourself clean. You want graphic details?
