Well about 5, I would guess, not that I ever get a date off any of them. I only use them to connect with other people in the way of friendship, that's why it says I'm here for mates/hang out in my profile and that's why I also have female friends on here.
As regards men/dating/lovers, I've enough putting up with the ones I know in the real world.....

I;ve been on a few dating sites, but only paid for one, when i did meet up with 1 guy from this site he only had one thing on his mind so just goes to show, when you do pay to be on a dating site as you think they might be serious about dating, men will do anything to get there end away

I got a lot more response from the paying ones but, I could not see the point in paying out money just to send a few messages and receive a few .... on average, I reckon I got about 3 personal messages per month.
Sometimes I got one message, then nothing further and other times, I got 2 or three messages per month but only to say Hi, how was I etc. Nothing in the line of dating came through .. although there was one very close call !!! She needed a friend to take her out and push her around in her wheelchair.
At this present time, I spend a lot of time here killing threads ... not intentionally, my stunning personality takes care of it for me.
There are two more 100% free sites where I have a couple of friends but, my best times are spent on the 'Playground' sites where anything and everything goes (just about); say what you like, heckle each other .. verbal jousting .. fantastic fun .............. but, most of my friends are in the U.S. which makes it slightly awkward as some are getting home from work when it is almost midnight here
I am here for friendship and if anything develops, great; otherwise, I've lost nothing.

I know what you mean about the time difference, I've had trouble with that in the past too as my american friends always used to come online just as I was going to bed or if I came on at lunchtime over here they were in bed. I just keep in touch mostly by email with my american friends nowadays, makes life easier. When I first started to chat online 12 years ago I only used to use an american site for the first five years then I went onto uk sites and it seemed weird at first us all being in the same time zone..

i did try another one a while back, but it was total crap 
they are all rubbish, they are either full of pervs or you have to pay for everything. its a no wonder this site is so popualar
not me babes, altho i do like it, to me its not the main thing, when i dated a person from this site, i loved her company and we looked forwards to seeing each other for that reason:)
